Our Perspective

How we see The Heritage - Verve Senior Living

This community combines exceptional facilities with reasonably priced suites to offer true value in senior care. The focus extends beyond basic physical care to mental and spiritual fulfillment in a genuinely nurturing setting. Families often rave about how their loved ones feel better than they have in years, thanks to the uplifting environment and the good people here.

The Heritage gives West Kelowna seniors the finest in senior living. With wood-grain floors, elegant dining areas, and bright, spacious suites, it’s an exceptionally beautiful community. Compared to other communities in the area, you'll find the Heritage outstanding in terms of the quality of the amenities and the attention of care workers and others. The heated indoor swimming pool is a highlight, but there's exquisite food service, in-house yoga classes, a hair salon, and many more amenities that make this a place you should look at closely. The renewed energy and outlook seniors gain is especially supported by the compassionate, energetic staff.

Community’s Perspective

How The Heritage - Verve Senior Living sees itself

Who are you as a community?

The Heritage Retirement Residence: Rural meets sophistication in the heart of West Kelowna. We offer independent and assisted living options for seniors. Our elegance complements the comfort, safety, and fulfilling slate of programs and exceptional amenities. Lounge in our dining room, lawn bowl with friends, relax and enjoy the sun on the patio, or enjoy a swim in the pool! From dining and services to the welcoming team members, we inspire active aging with assisted living support when needed, you can age in place with us! We have kitchenette's and secure parking at The Heritage.

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

Our full-service senior living retirement residence is designed to meet the needs of each individual from independent to specialized support. Exceptional Dining: Our resident-centric menus are prepared fresh daily by our professional chefs with inspiration from seasonal ingredients. Life Enrichment: We are a place where you can continue to be you while growing as an individual through a variety of activities and programs designed to empower your mind, body, and spirit.

What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?

Every team member here at The Heritage takes the extra time and attention to get to know each new resident that comes through our doors. From introducing residents with similar hobbies and special interests to ensuring every aspect of their healthcare and culinary needs are considered, welcoming people to The Heritage is a team effort. As well as our staff, we are lucky to have many on-site resident volunteers who make the extra effort to ensure new arrivals are acclimatizing well to their homes and ensuring everyone feels truly welcome to the family.

How are residents supported if their needs change?

At The Heritage, we take a thoughtful, individualized approach as needs evolve. Our Health and Wellness team works closely with residents and families to reassess and coordinate additional support, ensuring care is introduced in a way that feels seamless and respectful. The goal is to help residents remain comfortable and confident in familiar surroundings while receiving the assistance they need.

Under what conditions would you advise someone against choosing your community?

If The Heritage is not the right fit, it may be that your care needs extend beyond Independent or Assisted Living. The Heritage is designed to appeal to a wide range of lifestyles—whether you enjoy expressing your creativity through painting or staying active with mini golf and shuffleboard on the patio.

What might residents find surprising about your community?

The Heritage Retirement Residence offers Respite Stays. Whether it's extra professional assistance during illness or surgery recovery, a respite stay offers all of the comfort, socialization, professional support, and life enrichment of a stay at The Heritage. It's the perfect option for you and your family when you need that extra tender loving care.

How will your community change in the next five years?

We’ll continue to strengthen the qualities that matter most to our residents—personal attention, consistent support, and a comfortable daily rhythm. We focus on enhancing the resident experience in ways that feel natural and meaningful, while preserving the sense of home that defines life at The Heritage.

What five facts about your community should people know?

1. Peace of mind knowing that each suite has emergency pull-cords, personal pendants for each resident, and round-the-clock care staff on site.
2. Well-appointed kitchenettes for you to maintain your independence and prepare a few of your own meals if interested.
3. Beautiful 2nd floor roof-top patio for you to relax, soak in the sun, or garden.
4. Variety of scheduled bus excursions: weekly trips to the grocery stores, Saturday scenic tours, lunch outings to restaurants and wineries.
5. Our Red Seal Chef takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients. To add a little flare, our team likes to celebrate holidays such as Cinco De Mayo and St Patrick’s Day with holiday fare.

Testimonials and Stories

  • Keeping everyone safe

At Verve Senior Living, our focus is to provide services and supports that enable seniors to optimize their health, well-being, and independence. During the pandemic we looked to our experienced internal Leadership teams and Health and Wellness Leaders who work closely with our provincial health authorities to provide the best possible roadmap for navigating a worldwide pandemic. Our Infection, Prevention and Control policies and plans, which included visitor screening, masking, social distancing, hand hygiene and thorough enhanced disinfection of our sites allowed us to combat Covid. These plans aligned to provide the utmost in safety and security for our Residents physically, and continues to be an important security measure for attaining their optimal mental health in knowing their safety is at the forefront of all we do.

Our Residents remained in their suites for short periods of time — this was key in keeping the virus out of our Retirement Residences. Health care support continued to be provided on a one-on-one basis and our Life Enrichment team members worked to engage residents in a way that kept them active and socially engaged. All meals, snacks, treats, entertainment, and even happy hour beverages were brought to their suites, which were widely welcomed and appreciated by everyone! By following the safety guidelines and visits with loved ones, walks in the hallways or outside proved beneficial in enhancing both physical and mental exercise.

Mandatory Covid-19 vaccination for all residents and team members in our homes has been instrumental in decreasing the severity of outbreaks. Continuing to keep everyone safe is first and foremost in all that we do at Verve! To find out more on how Residents at Verve felt about living through these times, view it in their words below.
