Our Perspective

How we see Granville Gardens - Verve Senior Living

Granville Gardens is another exceptional senior care community from Verve Senior Living, with more than 40 years' experience in senior living. Granville Gardens exhibits its penchant for creating a variety of welcoming spaces throughout the community. The main foyer is spacious and includes different places where you can take a quiet moment by yourself or sit with friends and enjoy a chat. The dining room is equally generous in space. Seniors' suites are bright, spacious, and comfortable.

What people love about life at Granville Gardens is the care and attention. Having regular, chef-prepared meals offered daily is just the start of the life enhancement you'll enjoy. The group activities include games, exercise, outings and in-house entertainment making life as sociable as you want it. There are spaces where you can indulge in art, do chair yoga, or work on a jigsaw puzzle (by yourself or with a partner), along with quiet spots to have a chat or read by yourself.

Staff here has been characterized as "a wonderful, caring group who [has] patiently held our hands" through the decision process. People who move here create a new life within the walls of Granville Gardens. Of course, there's much to do outside, too, including strolls with the walking club, shopping, restaurants and lovely Kerrisdale parkland. For anyone who’s worked hard for themselves all their lives, it can be hard to accept help, but once you get used to it, you’ll love the life you find at Granville Gardens

Community’s Perspective

How Granville Gardens - Verve Senior Living sees itself

Who are you as a community?

Experience modern retirement living in our boutique-style residence. Granville Gardens offers peace, comfort, and safety nestled in the charming Vancouver neighbourhood of Kerrisdale, where everything you need is at your fingertips. Discover a new passion in our art centre or enjoy socializing in one of our bistro and lounges. The inviting West Coast design surrounded by Japanese-inspired gardens and terraces, exciting seniors’ programming, and 24/7 warm, caring team members are ready to welcome you home to your small oasis in the city.

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

At Granville Gardens, our intimate boutique residence, featuring just 62 suites, fosters a unique connection with our residents. This personalized approach is part of our charm. We take the time to understand each resident’s individual preferences, and our attentive staff quickly learns their needs. In our close-knit community, forming meaningful connections with fellow residents is effortless, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?

At Granville Gardens, we offer a comprehensive range of ancillary and personal services to help residents settle in comfortably from day one. To ensure a warm welcome, we display photos of new residents, allowing our staff to greet them by name upon arrival. Our team is dedicated to guiding and answering any questions, ensuring that everyone feels at home. We also provide a personalized orientation, where new residents can meet our managers over a cup of tea or coffee for a friendly introduction. Additionally, we thoughtfully suggest tablemates who share common interests, while always encouraging residents to choose their seating preferences.

How are residents supported if their needs change?

At Granville Gardens, we respond to changing needs in a way that feels personal and attentive. As support needs evolve, we work closely with residents and families to introduce additional services gradually, ensuring each person continues to feel comfortable, secure, and known. Because we are a smaller community, we are able to notice changes early and respond in a way that feels natural and well integrated into daily life.

Under what conditions would you advise someone against choosing your community?

If you want a larger, more structured environment with a highly standardized approach, or if you are looking for a minimalist approach to living, you might find another setting more suitable. Granville Gardens is the right place for seniors who appreciate a more personal atmosphere, where their voice is heard, and where daily life reflects the preferences and ideas of the people who live here.

How will your community change in the next five years?

Over the next five years, we will continue to build on what matters most to our residents—making each day enjoyable, meaningful, and shaped by their input. That means continuing to listen, adapt, and evolve our programs, services, and daily experiences so they reflect the interests and ideas of our community. Our goal is simple: to ensure residents continue to have a great day, every day.
