From day one of our journey in finding assisted living, following a long hospital stay, we knew Verve Aspen Woods was the perfect choice for our mom, and they have far exceeded our expectations. From when you first walk in the front door and are greeted by the wonderful concierge/receptionist who is friendly and helpful, knowing everyone by name, to the wellness and nursing team in assisted living with nothing but compassion and professionalism, we always feel welcome and part of the community. Joyce, Bianca, JP, and their teams made the transition for mom much easier than expected and did it on very short notice. It has now been over one year, and Mom is enjoying this chapter of life. What is most important to us is the nursing care that she receives. They are an extraordinary team.
Mom is taken to various activities, which she thoroughly enjoys. The meals are of a high calibre, healthy, wide variety, and delicious. I have enjoyed meals with mom in the dining room a few times and enjoyed the dining experience each time.
Having a physician in-house one afternoon each week for scheduled appointments is very important and appreciated. He is very attentive and understanding of geriatric needs.

My Dad has been a resident at Verve Aspen Woods since May, 2025. As with any senior who previously lived independently, there was an adjustment. Since the day he moved in, the staff has been very caring and attentive. They really go out of their way to get to know the residents and make them feel comfortable. The few times he's required additional support, the Front Desk and Nursing Staff did an excellent job managing his care.
The on-site activities keep him busy and engaged. He especially enjoys the live entertainment and the evening movies.
Our Family would highly recommend Verve Aspen Woods.

I have only positive things to say about this place, from the activities each and every week to the Management to the staff to the Facilities. Essentially, this is a five-star hotel inspired for seniors, very attentive to all needs, and a positive atmosphere flows throughout the halls here. Dining is very good, and there is no shortage of stuff to do, including activities that build and keep the latter years dignified. Well done, Verve, and glad that my parents are in your care!

My mother has been a resident at Verve Aspen Woods for three years now, and she is very happy there. After a brief 3-week respite stay, she decided to move there permanently, and she and we, her family, have never looked back. Joyce in particular, made the registration and move-in process a breeze. Mom enjoys the many activities put on by the friendly and energetic staff and finds meal times an enjoyable social event. She finds the meals excellent and healthy. I can vouch for the quality of the meals as well, since I have eaten in the dining room many times. One thing my mom and my family really appreciate is the private kitchen and dining room that can be reserved for family celebrations. We have done this many times. You can bring in your own meals or have it catered and served by the staff just like in a restaurant. My mom's room is spacious and well-cleaned by the staff daily. I really can't say enough good things about Verve Aspen Woods. I recommend it highly, and I know Mom does too.

Verve Aspen Woods has been an absolutely wonderful home for my mother for the past six years.
When she first moved in, I was naturally concerned about her well-being and potential loneliness in independent living. Those fears quickly evaporated as she made new friends, participated enthusiastically in activities, and benefited greatly from the nutritious and delicious food in the dining room.
What truly sets Verve apart is the exceptional nursing team and their seamless continuum of care. As Mom’s needs evolved over the years, we relied more and more on their reliable assistance. Her recent transition to assisted living has been smooth, and I am so relieved knowing she is getting the dedicated help she requires.
I am deeply grateful to the entire team at Verve Aspen Woods. We always feel like part of a community that genuinely cares about my mom and her well-being. They have consistently gone above and beyond—not only to ensure Mom is doing well but also to maintain excellent, proactive communication with me. It’s a true partnership. Highly recommended!

My wife and I first visited the property many years prior to introducing our Moms to the facility and staff. Throughout their review and questions, we found the team to be engaged, informative, and attentive to our inquiries.
My Mom settled in February 2025 with the expected concerns of leaving her home and friends from a province a great distance away. The staff have been superb in a myriad of ways. From onboarding and set up of her apartment, meeting new people, inviting her to activities, or cleaning and laundry schedules. Within a few months, she has settled into a wonderful routine, is happy, and her transition to Verve and Calgary could not have gone better.
As such, my siblings and I know she is in the best of care, is happy, and safe. The care team has been a pleasure to work with, and my family can recommend them without hesitation!

My mom arrived at Verve Aspen Woods (formerly Amica) in the spring of 2020. It was a stressful time to find a seniors residence for my mom, who could no longer live independently at home, especially one that took a thoughtful and careful approach to managing a vulnerable population during the pandemic. In all her years at Verve, the care did not change, and we always felt that J.P. and the Health Care Team made it a priority to ensure my mom had a full and happy life while she lived there. She recently needed to move to a long-term care facility, but all the stages of her fluctuating needs until that time were provided by a flexible team of caring individuals. I could always call and speak with the health care team. Her initial stay was a trial after a hospital stay, then into independent living, and as more care was required, the Assisted Living floor. Verve always felt like home and my mom, who was initially resistant to moving from her home, loved living there.
The traditional interior decor is warm, inviting, clean, and well-maintained. When you enter, you are greeted by a smiling face and someone who knows your loved one and you. While I could talk about the food and activities provided, what makes Verve Aspen Woods so special are the people. The staff are kind and friendly, and a large number have been employed for many years. Additionally, we found that the cost of living was better than in other comparable private facilities. We were very sad to leave Verve and would highly recommend it to seniors (and their families) who are looking for a place to call home.

Back in 2024, my very elderly father was released from the hospital and needed somewhere to go. He wanted to go home, but because of complicated dynamics from some family members, he was locked out of his own house. This was devastating for him and on very short notice Verve, with the help of Brad Loman from Vytality at Home, provided a safe and welcoming space for him. Every single person from management, to admin, to nursing, etc. were absolutely kind and supportive and helpful with him. He often commented that he wished he had come to Verve much sooner in his life - he was 92 at the time. During this difficult time, my sister and I were also welcomed with open arms and treated with great compassion. The food and all the facilities are amazing, the special events that were offered were fun and enjoyable. But it was the people and the environment that grounded everything else.
Sadly, my dad passed away 4 months after he went into Verve. For the last month, he was hospitalized, and we were hoping he would get better so he could return to Verve. During that time, the Verve staff did not pressure us with regard to his situation, which was much appreciated.
Our mom still lives at home, although there may be an option in the future that she will need to transition, and Verve is at the top of our list if she is eligible at that time.
I cannot express the absolute gratitude and love that we have for Verve and the staff. They made an extremely stressful time for my dad and me and my sister into a caring and loving situation. I am ........ FOREVER ....... grateful.

Verve Aspen Woods is a wonderful senior residence. My Father recently moved there, and I feel so at ease knowing he is there and being looked after so well. The staff is very attentive, caring, and kind. The food is healthy, fresh, and well prepared, and the facilities are great. Living abroad, I am particularly grateful for how the management communicates with the children of the residents; all the effort they make to celebrate special occasions, and how they keep the residents active and engaged. There is a special type of warmth and friendliness amongst the community of residents, which further reinforces it as the perfect choice.

Very positive experience with my father, as his needs are completely met, he is comfortable, and the staff and those who are working in the administration area really provide great care and quality of service to all the residents. The staff are absolutely amazing, kind, and always smiling. I spend a lot of time there and have never seen anyone who wasn’t kind and giving their best to the residents. They are genuine.
The chef is so thoughtful!!! Always asking residents what else he can do. Hope they find an extra spot for me for the high tea.
The meals and menu are well thought out with a great variety. It’s like being on a cruise ship. The servers are lovely and know everyone’s needs and names. The staff on the floors are incredibly attentive, helpful with great attention to detail. My Mom is so happy, with new best friends, activities, family events, and the staff are like family too.

Verve Aspen Woods was a wonderful haven for my Dad when his doctor recommended a move from my home to memory care. The facilities and dining are obviously exceptional, but the personal connections and support made Verve home. That support started from the first moment, when Verve's Community Relations Manager facilitated introductions and meals with other residents. The Director of Wellness, nurses, caregivers, and other staff always greeted Dad by name and attended to him cheerfully. When medical treatment became necessary, I was ever so grateful for the expert support. Saying goodbye to everyone at Verve, when Dad moved on, was like saying goodbye to family.

Verve Aspen Woods was the best choice for my mother-in-law. The residence is so warm and welcoming - as are the staff! It was always a pleasure visiting her in such a pleasant setting, and we have an exceptionally fond memory of a big family dinner of 14 people in the very nicely appointed private dining room. She was especially delighted to watch her great-grandchildren swim in the pool before dinner! Food was always great, the care services, when needed, were top-notch, and the peaceful neighbourhood setting always felt calming. Everyone in the family enjoyed visiting because the ambiance felt more like a classy hotel vs. a seniors home. Our whole family would all highly recommend Verve Aspen Woods to families looking for a safe and nurturing residence for their loved one. Verve Aspen Woods was a well-deserved reward for a woman who had worked extremely hard her whole life. Her only regret is that she didn't move in earlier.

We are so grateful we chose Verve Aspen Woods nine years ago when my mother-in-law decided it was time to move to senior living. I cannot say enough good things about the facility. It was called Amica Aspen Woods at that time. Now it is managed by Verve, but the staff, service, and prices have remained consistent.
We toured a lot of retirement homes before choosing for my mother-in-law, and there are a lot of them in Calgary! It can be overwhelming, and it’s a difficult decision to make. Here’s why we are so grateful to have chosen Verve:
1. Welcoming and caring staff. The staff at Verve take the time to get to know the residents and are unfailingly friendly and caring. There is also very little turnover in staff - many who worked there when my mother-in-law moved in in 2016 are still there. Cindy and Yeshi (nurses), Donna (front desk), Joyce (marketing and sales), JP (wellness), and Shannon (housekeeping) have all been huge supports to my mother-in-law and to us as a family.
2. Cheerful surroundings. Verve is tastefully decorated, clean, and bright. This makes a big difference to residents who live in the facility - and to family members who visit. (Saw the earlier comment about the carpet and can’t understand that one!)
3. Lots of activities. There’s always something going on at Verve! If you like community fun, you can find it, with movies, fitness activities, bridge, cooking classes, bingo, happy hour, special entertainment, and theme days. If you like a quieter atmosphere, you can find that, too, with the library/puzzle room and the pub or lobby area for reading the newspaper.
4. Great food! The chefs at Verve put their best into the meals they prepare for residents.
5. Continuing care. As residents age, they often need additional services. Verve can provide these on an a la carte basis. There is also a hair salon in the building, a provider to do nail care in a resident’s suite, and a physiotherapist who can do personal training (for a fee). My mother-in-law was active in the choir, poetry club, and hymn sing in her early days there. After nine years, she has ‘aged in place’ and now takes advantage of more of the additional care options.
6. I should also mention that my father (not related to my mother-in-law) also moved into Verve following the passing of my mother in 2017. He also really enjoyed living there and grew very fond of the staff. Verve was such a nice contrast to the other retirement home where he and my mother had been living before, and it was less expensive, too!

I was in Calgary for work for a few days and decided to drop in and surprise my grandpa, who lives at Aspen Woods. I couldn’t find him in his apartment, but then found out there was a big Casino event happening as part of their cruise week, sure enough, there grandpa was at the roulette table. The residents were all swarming around the tables. There was laughter and smiles everywhere, like one big family. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see this with my own eyes and know that he is in great hands with the team at Aspen Woods.

My late father was in Aspen Woods from 2019 to 2024. He was initially in independent living, then in his last 18 months or so, he moved to assisted living. The place is like the 'Hilton Hotel' (seriously). It is in the 'upper market segment' for senior residences, but worth it. The food is very good, and the rooms are nice - depending on your needs. My mother was in another place, and the rooms were very small - too small. The rooms at Aspen Woods are a nice size. The staff are fantastic and SO kind. Donna at the front desk is a saint. Cindy, one of the head nurses, is excellent and very caring. Joyce manages the community relations and is very competent and attentive. I have nothing to be critical of. Lots of activities and things to do there. All the staff are kind - they have little turnover, which is a good sign. I would recommend Aspen Woods to anyone.

If you are looking for a senior retirement community for yourself or a loved one, look no further than Verve Aspen Woods. It is a community that has been exceptional in every aspect and continues to surprise and delight our father who downsized from the family home in September 2022. The features of the building are above and beyond, with everything you would desire and then some! The building itself is well situated in a residential community with access from all quadrants of the city, via the new Stoney Trail extension, which makes travel to and from smooth and easy. The underground parking is especially welcome in both the heat of summer and cold of winter and is even available for use while visiting.
The curb appeal is warm and welcoming, with the grounds immaculately kept no matter the season. The summer patios are gorgeous with south-facing exposure and resplendent with flower pots. There are ample walking paths for residents and visitors alike on the property and through the local community. The housekeeping and maintenance teams take great pride in ensuring a clean and well-maintained building, whether in the shared common spaces or the private suites.
The food is exceptional - in taste, quality and variety. Kudos to the kitchen team! We love the extra touches like the special coffee machine and takeout items from the Pub. If Dad is out and about for the day, he can easily pick up lunch-to-go to keep him fueled for the day. The dining room staff are excellent in their attitudes and service delivery. They know every resident by name and have even come to know all members of our family when we visit. The concierge team and care teams are fully engaged with the residents and anticipate needs and manage a busy "house" from command central ensuring residents and visits alike are cared for and have a good experience. The calendar of events is creative and overflowing with opportunities to be as engaged as one would desire - truly something for everyone. Beautiful, well-appointed facilities and services aside, every point of contact with every staff member is a moment of truth. An opportunity to showcase their big hearts, care and interest in the residents, their families and visiting guests. From the first moment of connection with the Lifestyle Managers who toured us around the facility, and helped us select the right suite, to the signing of the lease agreement with the General Manager, to the logistics of move-in, monthly billing with the Office Manager, to the onboarding by the Director of Wellness and other logistics, this is a team of awesome humans who are real pros! We simply can't say enough great things about Verve Aspen Woods.
Making the transition to a seniors community can be fraught with worries and concerns for both the senior and their family. The team at Verve allayed those with fears and helped ease my dad into a new lifestyle that has been supportive and enjoyable for him while giving us peace of mind and joy in witnessing this new chapter of his life, with new friends and activities.

Perfect Respite. I recently spent 1 week post-orthopaedic surgery at Aspen Woods and recommend it highly. I am under 60 yrs old. The staff were kind, responsive & accommodating. I felt welcomed. Thank you for gluten free meals and ice machine refills at 4 AM. I did not require much care overall by the staff but that is available as needed. It was helpful having my daily vitals taken by a nurse. The large suite I had was contemporary enough with a hospital bed and it was kept barrier free and super clean.

My friend I love has been a resident at Aspen Woods Calgary for just over six months. I visit her almost every day for a couple of hours. It's easy to access the building from the main streets. The grounds are well kept and there is both surface parking and parkade parking for the visitors. The building layout is very good and reminds me of the high-end casinos in Las Vegas in its quality.
The Front Desk Concierge... makes it a very welcome experience. From the Concierge to the front-line workers, [service] is of a high standard. The staff is dedicated to providing care with efficiency and compassion. The housekeeping and upkeep is satisfactory. The residents are provide good care and assistance as needed by each individual. This no doubt is a reflection of the good management. The Facility projects a cheerful environment with very positive vibes... While it is the Staff at large who perform, I give credit to the Management for running such a good establishment and the staff for executing it all.
