Reviews of The Wellington Retirement Residence

Gain exclusive insight into life at The Wellington Retirement Residence. Comfort Life’s exclusive verified reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.

Our perspective

Atmosphere is something you can’t fake. Inside The Wellington on a typical day, you’ll find the warm atmosphere that arises from a community of people who obviously feel at home here. This feels like a great place to be, no matter who you are, what your age, or whether you are visiting or living here.

So where does that warmth come from? It begins with the fact that (as you can see) people are well taken care of and happy. People take care of each other, here, too, as is apparent in the friendly exchanges you witness and the immaculate environment throughout. There are people joking with each other by the billiards table, people have their pets with them. It all tells a story that this is a good place to live.

Perhaps the most important thing for some people is the suite where you live. Private suites here are also wonderfully immaculate, spacious, and cleanly laid out, things you will have seen as you come through the building. We love that many suites offer a full kitchen, so you can do your own thing when you want to. But that said, one of the final draws for us is the dining here! There are wonderful menu choices served up by a service staff that demonstrates care and humility in their treatment of those they serve. That makes it a delight to eat, every mealtime. If you expect exceptional care and community, you’ll find nothing left to ask for, at the Wellington.

My friends are treated very well here.

Tony Wooster, family member

I really have nothing but good to say about the care my friend received from the people of the Wellington. From Ms. McArthur the Manager and Taylor the Care Manager thru to Nettie, Bobbie, Dwayna, Surong, Laurie, and I know I have missed some, who where so kind and wonderful with Fred. I know somewhere in him is the memory of how much you people meant to him and the value of the care you gave him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after Fred so well. I can only hope and pray he gets half the care you guys gave him, because half would be amazing. You gave your hearts, and it showed.

Staff are friendly and the residents all seem content and comfortable.

Joe and Christina moved into The Wellington in 2020. After a month, we asked them if they would move back to their house and the answer was a resounding "nooooo". It became home very quickly. That is a testament to the staff (who become friends) and fellow residents. Joe and Christina would unanimously confirm they have enjoyed living in The Wellington.

Larry MacKenzie, family member

I am beyond impressed with Allyson and her facility and staff... to say that she was a lifesaver for my father is cliche, but it is a fact. Wonderful, wonderful people and a wonderful retirement facility.

Donna Piwarczyk, family member

Mom loves the amount of activities always scheduled, especially the music. The activities coordinator is amazing and always has the residents involved. The health care aides are very kind and caring and the housekeeping staff are wonderful!

Jen Smith, family member

No other place I’d feel so comfortable having my loved ones live! Really feels like a second home with a warm environment and kind, caring staff!

Bradley K., family member

Change is so overwhelming, and the staff frontline staff Sheila went well above and beyond.

Cathy H, family member

This is a lovely place. The residents & staff are awesome. Pet friendly, individual apartments, common eating area. Activity center is available & if you can play the piano they have one. Enjoy!
