Gain exclusive insight into life at River Ridge Seniors Village. Comfort Life’s exclusive verified reviews and videos give you insider information from residents and their families.
The village layout of this community takes us back to the small-town feeling of yesteryear. You can visit a hair salon and barbershop, replete with barbers pole. A library, a bistro, the Vineyard dining, and a chapel round out services you’d expect “downtown.” A unique sense of familiarity and comfort comes out of this, even for those who grew up in a city. Everything is right here.
River Ridge gives Medicine Hat and area caregiving families a premium destination for their loved ones. You'll find a complete continuum of care in a beautiful, warm, caring environment. This is a wonderful place for everyone, especially couples where one spouse requires extended care. Caregiving spouses who move here love that they can be under the same roof as their partner, see them several times daily, and at the same time, have their life back.
There’s so much more to praise about this location, beginning with the quality of the location. The community overlooks the South Saskatchewan River, and you’re mere minutes off the highway, making it very convenient for family to visit from out of town. On the exterior of the building, sculpted, tree-lined walking paths make for pleasant, familiar places to stroll.

Speaking as a family member of a resident, I’m pleased with how seamless this transition has been. My mother is very content in her suite, with her neighbors, the facility in general, and with meal services. Brooks has been excellent in dealing with our questions; he's both personable and professional as the face of River Ridge.
My move into River Ridge was a very positive experience and the right decision for me. I was met and welcomed by our friendly and helpful independent coordinator Brooks. I have enjoyed the meals, the activities and the other residents are very friendly and helpful. My suite is cozy and I was allowed to bring my little Bichon dog who gets a lot of attention from staff and other residents. It is a great place to be!
The frontline workers/staff are excellent: the nurses, therapists, health care aides, laundry and housekeeping staff, cleaning staff.... It is a safe place to live. A contracted doctor makes site visits, making life easier for those with mobility issues.
Staff is excellent with my mom.
River Ridge Seniors Village is one of the nicest Seniors living accommodations that I have seen in Medicine Hat, with 4 levels of care for all Seniors, a main street, and a Rec. Room for Individuals to gather and sit and meet for coffee. I would definitely recommend River Ridge Seniors Village to anyone who is looking for a place when it comes to Independent living.
Excellent staff and establishment. Wonderful attention. Very clean and spacious rooms. Meals are always varied. Strongly recommend you visit if the need has arrived.
Great place! My Grandma has been living here and her accommodations are beautiful and spacious! They have great events like Bingo nights, dances and so many activities that keep her busy and social. The nurses are so nice and spend time with her when she is building puzzles or watching TV. Highly recommend.
People here are so well taken care of. I know that someone is always there. Staff go above and beyond to look after the residents. The place is so clean! They have lots of activity. If anyone is looking for a social life, they'll love it.
Very good place, I am currently enjoying my last few years here! Very happy with this place!
