I’m a happy camper! The fellowship downstairs, the walking group, pizza nights, barbeque nights. Everything here is happy.

The other day there were two little ducks sitting out front, and I could watch from my window, with all the new buildings around me. It was just very nice. It’s very comfortable living here. And it’s very, very quiet. Every day, just sitting on my balcony, with a glass of wine in my hand, and the birds calling to each other. I’m in my happy place.

There’s no way I could afford an apartment like this in the city. I love it. I love my backyard. At my old house, I would worry if I left the house. Now, I just lock the door and leave, and I know my neighbours are looking out for me. I don’t have to shovel. I used to dread a snowstorm.

You see people who are really friendly with each other.

The beauty is that if you need those activities, they are all there. People go to the theatre or golfing together, and it’s really nice to have. They have a walking group and it’s nice that the company is there if you want it.

I’m trying to get my life down to simple. Brampton was stressful and frustrating, and I knew I wanted to get out. I was done with the hustle and bustle. I don’t need to be in a place like that any more. I love the beauty of the countryside here. The atmosphere of both the area and the community gives me a deep sense of peace of mind. It’s just very peaceful and relaxing.
