What do you do differently or uniquely well?

Edgewood Suites is an active-adult living community. This means we offer independent apartment rentals to seniors 55+. Tenants are at the helm with private apartments, in-suite laundry & full kitchens with the option to engage in community socials within the building. Living space is extended with 24 hour access to our games room, library, and gym.

What supports do you offer residents as they adjust to life there?

Edgewood Suites is the perfect spot for anyone undergoing new changes. Whether that be the kids moving out, retirement, or changes to your family structure, Edgewood gives you a turn-key apartment with community built in!

Whether you're looking for a new place to golf, your closest church, or likeminded folks to share your stories with, the Edgewood community and staff are always happy to help you. Even if you're just a bit too shy to head into coffee hour on your own, one of our staff people will gladly come with!

How are residents supported if their needs change?

dgewood Suites is an independent living community with built-in socials and resources to help you make the very best of this new era of life!

We have tenants at all ages 55 to their 90s, and with that comes different stages and lifestyles. Access to in-house socials, health and wellness presentations, and a knowledgeable concierge allow you to enjoy your freedom and independence while preparing for the changes that present themselves with age.

Because we are an independent living community, we don't offer care, meals, or housekeeping. But, that means you get to call the shots! Feel free to bring in your own PSW or nursing care, meal services, or housekeeping. We will help you with resources wherever we can!

Under what conditions would you advise someone against choosing your community?

Edgewood Suites is located in charming Dundalk, Ontario. We are surrounded by nature and our village is nestled in amongst plenty of farmland. Be prepared for a rural lifestyle...we check off all the boxes for adventurers, hikers, fishers, and day-trippers!

Remember, we are not a care facility, meals, nurses, and PSW care will need to be sourced through the local community.

Most of all, Edgewood Suites is not for you if you are not community minded. Prepare for your neighbours to arrive with a fresh baked pie to welcome you in, a hand-drawn invitation to a pot-luck dinner, and the close knit community atmosphere to draw you in. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name!

What might residents find surprising about your community?

The joy of a charming village within a village is the highlight of Edgewood Suites. Our tenants take care of one another, giving families peace of mind.

Additionally, Edgewood Suites is a new style of seniors housing. Independence, modern fixtures, and accessible luxury give our tenants 55-95 an upgraded lifestyle. A lifestyle where they feel empowered to face their future head-on with strength and support!

How will your community change in the next five years?

The future holds a lot of exciting things for Edgewood Suites! Our community is full of adventurous, active, people. My vision is to see even more folks thriving. A lot can change from 55 to 65 and so on. To me, Edgewood Suites is special because community support is so readily available. I have had the pleasure of watching our tenants lives become full of colour, with barrier-free units supporting their changing needs, socials and outings that are geared to seniors, and even folks in their 70s jet-setting for the first time in their lives. None of this would be possible if it weren't for our community members, and I can't wait to meet all the amazing people who will choose to come along this journey with us!
