This community is ideal for Calgary families and seniors looking for something a little different, something a little more ideally relaxed. The location just outside of Calgary in Rocky View County, is an idyllic location that offers quiet, country living close to the city. In addition, this is close to the highway, making it easily accessible for family members from throughout the area.
The village layout of this community takes us back to the small-town feeling of yesteryear. You can visit a hair salon and barbershop, replete with barbers pole. A library, a bistro, the Vineyard dining, and a chapel round out services you’d expect “downtown.” A unique sense of familiarity and comfort comes out of this, even for those who grew up in a city. Everything is right here.
As a person with a family member in the Manor facility, I can say that the communication from everyone has been amazing. I have sat down for a meal that they have provided, and it was delicious. The staff and residents are extremely friendly and shout out to Emma Thorn for helping my family navigate trying times!
Wonderful place, my grandma lives here and gets amazing care. This is a beautiful and amazing place for anyone 55+ looking for a calm and peaceful living, the staff absolutely care for all of the residents.
What a lovely place. The staff are all so kind and full of compassion and knowledge! The nurses go above and beyond and the whole place is clean and sanitary (a priority for my family)! The food is also amazing and I really appreciate all the activities and fun events the staff plan. It really brightens the patient's days and helps the days not blend in to one another. I think it's vital to have something to look forward to and socialization for quality of life and to ward off dementia! Thank you Prince of Peace! You've given me peace of mind and joy!
The staff vigilantly guard against infection from every angle. My mom is quite appreciative of your efforts, as well as all the accommodations you provide for her.
My Mum, who is 97, has lived at Prince of Peace Manor for three years. She has some dementia and she loves living there. She says the food is very good and the staff are professional, kind, helpful and not intrusive. I have found the standard of care to be excellent and staff go the extra mile to ensure that residents are healthy and safe. My Mum and I are happy we found the Prince of Peace Manor.
Speaking as a family member of a resident, I’m pleased with how seamless this transition has been. My mother is very content in her suite, with her neighbors, the facility in general, and with meal services. Brooks has been excellent in dealing with our questions; he's both personable and professional as the face of River Ridge.
My move into River Ridge was a very positive experience and the right decision for me. I was met and welcomed by our friendly and helpful independent coordinator Brooks. I have enjoyed the meals, the activities and the other residents are very friendly and helpful. My suite is cozy and I was allowed to bring my little Bichon dog who gets a lot of attention from staff and other residents. It is a great place to be!
The frontline workers/staff are excellent: the nurses, therapists, health care aides, laundry and housekeeping staff, cleaning staff.... It is a safe place to live. A contracted doctor makes site visits, making life easier for those with mobility issues.
Staff is excellent with my mom.

River Ridge Seniors Village stands out for its inclusive care options—Independent, Supportive, and Long-Term Care—all within a warm, welcoming environment overlooking the South Saskatchewan River. Families choose us for our nationally accredited care, strong relationships with residents, and vibrant social life. Our “resident-first” philosophy ensures personalized attention, while amenities like Happy Hour and on-site services foster comfort and connection. Residents feel at home here, supported by a dedicated team and a community that truly listens
We understand that moving into a retirement community can be both exciting and overwhelming, which is why we offer a range of personalized supports to help residents adjust and feel at home. Each new resident receives a comprehensive orientation led by our department managers, along with a detailed resident handbook for ongoing reference. During the initial transition period, we assist residents to and from meals and activities to ensure comfort and ease. To foster social connections, we pair long-standing residents and newcomers at meal times so they can mingle and form friendships.
At River Ridge Seniors Village, we ease the transition with personalized tours, warm welcomes, and a resident-first philosophy. New residents are encouraged to visit before move-in to meet staff and explore the community. Our recreation team offers engaging activities like Happy Hour, movie nights, and seasonal events to foster connection. Staff build supportive relationships through clear communication and one-on-one engagement. Families appreciate our commitment to comfort, safety, and inclusion, making River Ridge a trusted choice for senior living
Our team conducts regular wellness assessments and remains in close communication with residents and their families to ensure that care plans remain appropriate and responsive to each individual’s needs. Our goal is to ensure residents continue to receive the right level of support while maintaining as much independence and dignity as possible. A resident may need to move units or to a different level of care if their needs exceed what we can safely and effectively provide in their current living arrangement. This might occur if they require advanced memory care, 24-hour skilled nursing, or other specialized services. We offer hands-on support throughout the transition process.
At River Ridge Seniors Village, we offer a continuum of care—Independent, Supportive, and Long-Term Care—allowing residents to remain in a familiar environment even as their needs evolve. Transitions are planned with residents and families, ensuring essential information is communicated and care plans are updated. Our interdisciplinary team assesses self-management capacity and coordinates with external providers when needed. Families appreciate our proactive approach and personalized support, making River Ridge a trusted choice for evolving care needs
We are an ideal choice for seniors who value a modest, faith-based lifestyle rooted in community. Our environment is best suited for those who appreciate a supportive, faith-based atmosphere. We may not be the right fit for everyone; particularly those seeking specialized healthcare for complex medical needs, a highly independent or urban lifestyle, or apartment-style living with full kitchens and a strong desire to continue cooking, cleaning, and maintaining full autonomy. Our priority is to help each senior find a community that truly matches their needs and values. If that place isn’t with us, we’re more than happy to help guide them in the right direction; because to us, the right fit matters more than simply filling a room.
River Ridge Seniors Village offers a full continuum of care—Independent, Supportive, and Long-Term Care—allowing residents to remain in a familiar, trusted environment as their needs evolve. Transitions are guided by our interdisciplinary team, who work closely with families to update care plans and ensure comfort. Residents may move units if their care level changes, but many remain within the same community. We also welcome external providers to supplement care when needed. Families value our flexibility, proactive planning, and commitment to continuity and dignity.
Moving to a senior living community can feel like a big step. For many, it initially seems like a loss of independence, a sign that they’ll have to give up the routines and activities they enjoy. But time and again, our residents at Prince of Peace discover the opposite. Once they settle in, they find themselves more socially engaged, more active, and often stepping outside their comfort zones to try new things. What once felt like a step back becomes a meaningful step forward in quality of life.
Many residents are surprised by how quickly River Ridge feels like home. Despite initial concerns about leaving their house, they often discover a vibrant, welcoming community with caring staff and new friendships. Social hour with wine and drinks, engaging activities, and personalized attention exceed expectations. Residents also appreciate the peaceful river views and the flexibility of care options. While some expect a clinical setting, they find warmth, connection, and a sense of belonging that truly sets River Ridge apart
