Whatever it may be that has brought you to us, we are here to listen, offer support and invite you to be a part of the Applewood family.

Applewood is a long-standing community member not only of Kawartha Heights and the “West End”, but is also a known pillar in Peterborough City as a whole. We often hear our residents comparing stories of growing up, meeting spouses and finding work right in the surrounding Streets and Avenues of Peterborough.

This is a place where General Electric, Quaker Oats, Holiday Ford and Civic Hospital gather, to make connections, share stories of loss and fill each other with laughter.

History exists in the halls of Applewood. We learn from those who are here and from those who wish to come, the days of the past, the one who was a proud nurse, a well-known farmer or a Veteran of war.

At Applewood, we strongly believe you will find your place. Supporting transition, following life changes and creating comfort and expressing care, is what we do. We want you to know you are heard, cared for and supported within the family of Applewood.

Our rooms are comfortable, and spacious enough for friends or grandchildren to visit, not to mention your four legged companion. We have rooms with a variety of layouts, and when you are ready to visit, we would be happy to share lunch and show you around.

We continue to work closely with our local Public Health Unit as well as the local Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) teams to ensure that we have the most stringent measures in place.

Outbreak Status

We are entrusting Ontario Public Health as well as our local public health unit to guide us through the monitoring, maintenance and management of outbreak as well as day-to-day precautions and protocols. We are continuously learning and adapting under the direction of the Ministry, the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA), our IPAC support teams and the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA), we continue to follow these directions and fight this new wave of Covid-19 and the Omicron variant.

This has been a long journey, and we can assure you that the residents who entrust us are at the forefront of everything we do. We remain 100% focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, team members and extended families.
