I've been a resident at Golden Pond for 16 years now. The owners and employees are loving and family-oriented. I find the care given is good, to understanding that even if all you need is a hug, it's there for you. Being out of town a ways, we see some wildlife here. Deer have been seen drinking at the pond outside the dining room early in the morning. Also, Canada geese have babies every year, and beavers and otters also visit our pond. It is a wonderful place to live. We also have house pets, cats, and dogs. Golden Pond is not only a retirement home, it is also a wonderful place in the middle of nature, and to me, it's HOME.

Ralph Villman and Lore Bieber have a unique vision in retirement living, manifested in Golden Pond Retirement Residence, east of Oshawa. This community is ideal for the nature lover, the aspiring mystic, or anyone who loves peace and tranquility. It feels like a spiritual retreat you can call home, and indeed the ranch-style building will quickly become just that for you, surrounded by peers who love it here.

My mom likes GP because of the quiet and homey feel. She feels very comfortable living there. The people there take excellent care of her. If she is having a crisis they are there for her and supporting her in her needs. I would recommend GP because of the care and the country charm that GP has. My mother-in-law was also there and unfortunately she needed more medical help but the people there went far beyond what they needed to do. The meals that they have are your basic usual meal plans that meet the residents needs. If there is something that they don't really care for they will try to accommodate them. The rooms are cleaned very well and the laundry is also well done. They have activities for the residents, from games or people coming in to entertain them with music.
