Reviews of Chartwell Erinview

Gain exclusive insight into life at Chartwell Erinview. Comfort Life’s exclusive verified reviews give you exclusive insider information.

Our perspective

Erinview's newest building, which opened in 2019, raises the bar of care and community created in this established retirement residence. It's a completely contemporary living environment surrounded by beautiful older homes on tree-lined streets in Sheridan Homelands. Ideal for families in Mississauga, Milton, Oakville, and elsewhere in the west GTA, the Erinview offers a uniquely homey feeling. That comes straight from the top, from a company focused on caring for elders. And one of the ways that's best exemplified is in the relative affordability of this community, compared to other seniors' residences in the area.

Inside and out, this residence creates a compellingly safe, secure environment where you can sit with friends and enjoy time together. It's like a low-rise condo but with a wealth of communal activities that keep seniors moving and happy. People get active in the fitness studio. There are onsite movie nights and excursions to shopping and events. The open-concept main floor is a wonderful meeting place. There's lots to do here, to create a life that's just right for you.

The Erinview combines coziness with a breadth of care including assisted living. Many people who live here also like the proximity of several churches and shopping. It gives you everything you'll need at this stage of life. Take a tour and you might feel right at home.

Erinview is a gem. My parents moved there once they both had some health issues and loved it! Even my Dad who was not on board and did not want to leave his house, was so happy there. In fact, he would tell me every time he saw me how grateful he was that I convinced him to move. My Dad had Parkinson's and cancer and needed more and more help, the staff was not only caring but also so kind and helpful. I knew he was in good hands when I was not there. My mom has Dementia, and this was so good for her as she had someone to do the cooking and cleaning, and she could not worry about that anymore. Tamara is a superstar, she was reassuring the first time I met her, and until the last time. When my Dad passed in the home, I felt the compassion and support of everyone, especially Justine and Allison. And as an only child, it was really amazing to have them be there for my Dad and me.

I recently stayed at Erinview for 5 1/2 weeks following cardiac surgery and was very satisfied with the experience. The support and kind attention given by the staff, as well as the great meals and comfort of a modern suite, were instrumental in my recovery from the surgery. I would recommend Erinview as an excellent choice for anyone who requires respite care.

Tamara and her team provide a home and customer service to the residents of Erinview that is second to none. An exceptionally high quality of life and supports are provided to the residents of this home. Tamara knows the value of keeping the "family" in "family business." These characteristics carry over into her dedication to the residents and her management style. Everyone is an equal at Erinview and this makes an enormous difference in the quality of life the residents enjoy. From the moment you walk in the front door, you are immediately at ease and feel at home. Small homes and teams really do it better.

Our mother has resided at Erinview for the past five years. We have been continually impressed with and very pleased by the resident-focused way this facility is operated. The management and staff know and care about the residents with respect, professionalism, and compassion. Our mother is in a safe and caring environment and that is so important to us.

I have resided at Erinview on two separate occasions for respite care due to hip replacement. When you walk into Erinview it feels like a warm home atmosphere. The staff and the workers are warm, caring, compassionate, and kind they care about the individual. The staff, PSWs, nurses, dining room staff, and maintenance workers are attentive to your every need. There is entertainment, outings, crafts, much to keep one busy if one so desires. In my opinion, Erinview is "par to none". I would never hesitate to have a loved one living there, because I know that they would be safe and in the most excellent care possible.

I have stayed at Erinview on two different occasions following knee replacement surgery. Erinview provided a safe and comfortable environment in which to start my recovery. The manager is very engaged with the full-time residents and those who are in for short rehabilitation stays. The PSWs were very kind and attentive and replied as promptly as possible to the personal calling devices which are given to all persons staying at Erinview. The medical staff was thorough and helpful, providing whatever level of medication support that each person required. There are lots of activities including bridge, jigsaw puzzles and handicrafts. I hope that I don’t have any more surgery for a long time but if I do Erinview would be my first choice to stay after my surgery.

My mom has lived here for over a year. She enjoys living here and has made so many wonderful friends. The staff are friendly, compassionate and caring and pay close attention to details…. Mom feels like she is part of an extended family here. I rest assured she is in great hands!

Before I moved into the Erinview, I lived here in Mississauga, just a few streets over from the Residence. We started searching for a retirment living option when my husband began developing Alzheimer's and taking care of him on my own started to get too difficult. My children suggested that it may be best to live somewhere where there was the option to have certain care and services provided; and they took it upon themselves to find us a place, sell the house, pack us up and help us relocate.

Given that we lived so close by, I spent many years driving by the building and seeing it from only its exterior. One day while out for lunch with my daughter-in-laws, they brought me into The Erinview for a tour. I walked in and had a great feeling right from the start. It felt comfortable, spacious; my gut was telling me this was it. The most important thing was to be someplace welcoming and inviting, and still have the space to keep certain pieces and memorabilia that would have been difficult to part with. I listened to my gut upon walking through those doors the very first time, and it spoke to me that this place was to become our new home. My suite has the right amount of space for the items that I wanted to keep, and it's the perfect size to display all my travel items and family photos proudly. The best piece of advice that I have for someone searching for a retirement residence would be to listen to their gut and follow that feeling.

One of the things that surprised me was the affordability of living in a retirement residence and I wished I had known sooner: I never have to cook again or make long grocery trips. I also love socials and entertainment programs such as music performances - they are my favourite. I also really enjoy going on the outings, especially shopping! My lovely suite has the right amount of space for the items that I wanted to keep and it's the perfect size to display all my travel items and family photos proudly!

Wonderfully refreshing to see beautiful people enjoying [every day] at Erinview.

I like the exercise programs very much. I think it's necessary. I try to go at least three times a week, sometimes four times a week. It's nice, too, here, you can go out for a walk, the streets in the neighborhood have lots of nice gardens.
