Amica offers premium senior living in locations across BC and Ontario, trusted for its ability to combine an elegant lifestyle with diligent care. Amica Riverside is a great example of their work, with luxurious amenities like a saltwater pool, balconies on every suite, and staff who take a personal interest in every senior in their care. Its location on the river helps set the tone for a pleasant new life seniors will find here.
The Village of Glendale Crossing creates a good-natured community made up of both seniors and staff. The care and nursing staff here get an especially high grade for “going that extra mile” as part of their daily routine. With the opening of Phase 3 in 2023, The Village became a fuller, more vibrant community that benefits strongly from Schlegel’s town square layout and other features. Friends meet each other throughout the building, and a lively daily activities schedule further enhances the social life.
My 97-year-old mother-in-law has been a resident of Amica Riverside in Windsor, Ontario, for almost a year. During that time, we met many staff members, especially those who work on the 2nd floor, who impressed us with their dedication and personal care for her. They have been patient, cheerful, and kind to her. The PSWs who provide her personalized care have been compassionate and understanding of her needs. The General Manager, Ahron Goldman, leads by example. He takes a personal interest in the residents, even visiting residents who are ill in the hospital. During his tenure, he has added several personal and innovative touches to the amenities offered at Amica. The staff try to know the residents and their families by name. We always receive a warm welcome from Michaela, Renee, and others at the concierge desk. The nurses and PSWs take a personal interest in my mother-in-law's daily care and are pleasant and cheerful. On the first day, Debbie (PSW) assured us that she would take excellent care of Mum and took time to learn about her needs and wants. She even called us after we went home to assure us that Mum had gone off to sleep peacefully. The Director of Wellness, Josh Breault, has responded to our concerns and provided assistance when needed. Christine, Jaspreet, Renee, and the other servers in the dining room are attentive, pleasant, and compassionate. Two choices of entrees at every meal and an a la carte menu ensure that mealtimes are something to look forward to. We are grateful for the care that has been provided at Amica Riverside. The dedication and compassion of the staff make a significant difference. We have appreciated all who have made a positive difference during my mother-in-law's stay there.
Beautiful facility! I did a tour today with Frank. He was very knowledgeable and caring towards all the residents. I highly recommend all families to tour Amica and see for yourself. It’s a premium facility with great amenities, a saltwater pool, a theatre, a pool table, a hair salon, and great dining options. I cannot forget to mention the wonderful and kind-hearted staff! Thank you to Frank and his team for having me today.
Amica Riverside is the epitome of what retirement living should be. The Home is an actual home with all kinds of activities that are essential for enjoyable senior living. The dining experience is very rich and classy. The staff and management are amazing!
All of the staff I have met thus far at Amica have been extremely nice and show just how much they care for both their residents and visitors. They do an excellent job of making everyone feel comfortable & have a pleasant stay. The building is always clean kept in very nice condition. I have nothing but good things to say about Amica.
Amica has kept us updated on changes regularly. Mom is again enjoying activities and being with her friends at her place.
As the owner of a business that supports seniors who are transitioning homes, we have moved many clients into Glendale Crossings. The whole village has a wonderful vibe to it - I see seniors out of their rooms engaging in activities and the goings on of village life. There is always a bustle of activity throughout the home and a very social place when in the village. The staff is always warm and inviting and very caring towards the residents and guests. It feels very bright, spacious, and friendly - always clean and well maintained - I would certainly recommend!
As always, I had a good experience. The staff is great. I enjoy visiting with my siblings, and I am always welcomed by the staff.
My father and I had a wonderful lunch followed by a tour with Monika. We found the home open, clean, spacious, warm, and welcoming. We had lunch at the Ruby, which was a real treat, and the food was excellent. My parents are on a wait list but we have been invited to several of their events, the latest being an educational lunch and learn session on Alzheimer's. Feeling part of the community there makes all the difference. Lots of activities in a modern setting with friendly staff on site. Much gratitude for all you do!
When our elderly relative could no longer live independently and needed help with meals and some daily care, we took him to meet the team at Glendale Crossing for a tour. We were all impressed with the facility, from the 'village' concept with a town hall, meeting space, coffee lounge, and other common area amenities, it genuinely feels like a small community. The place is spotlessly clean, and meals are both nutritious and delicious, the staff is relentlessly attentive, and we have never once had a cause for even the mildest complaint. Glendale Crossing is a high-end retirement community, and it shows with every attention to detail and the quality of the staff, but if your relative or family can afford it, we highly recommend it as an option.
The team at Glendale Crossing Retirement Residence is a pleasure to work with. Monika and Holly are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely care about building meaningful relationships in the community. They are truly dedicated to supporting seniors and their families.
Amica Riverside is a premium retirement community in Windsor, Ontario, located along the scenic Detroit River. We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Respite Care in a beautifully designed residence with personalized wellness support, chef-prepared dining, and exceptional amenities. But more than that—we are a warm, inclusive community where residents of all care levels live together with dignity and joy. At our core, we are a place where people feel at home—where new friendships form easily, care is provided with heart, and every resident is empowered to live their life their way.
The Village of Glendale Crossing, just off Singleton Avenue in London, is a prominent focal point in a blossoming neighbourhood making this Village a true community hub. In Fall of 2023 we opened our Retirement Phase with a total of 227 suites that consist of Independent Living, Retirement Apartments, Full Service Retirement Suites, Assisted Care Suites and Memory Care Suites. The Retirement Phase joined our Long Term Care Village of 192 suites that has been in operation since 2010.
At Amica Riverside, we can support a wide range of care needs—including heavier care like two-person assistance—but we are not a secured memory care community. Residents who may be a danger to themselves or others, or who are at risk of wandering, are unfortunately not safe here. If a resident’s needs change while living with us, our professional wellness team reassesses their care plan and adjusts services as needed, often without requiring a move. In some cases, a resident may need to transition to a different suite or, rarely, to a more specialized community. We provide compassionate support throughout this process, working closely with families and healthcare professionals. Additionally, outside care providers are welcome to come in.
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
At Amica Riverside in Windsor, Ontario, we make moving in feel like coming home. Our warm, personalized move-in process ensures every resident—whether fully independent or requiring heavier care, including two-person assistance—feels supported from day one. What makes us truly unique is our inclusive community where independent seniors and those needing more care live side by side, enjoying the same elegant suites, chef-prepared meals, and vibrant lifestyle programs. With 24/7 wellness support and amenities like a saltwater pool and riverside views, settling in is just the beginning of feeling at home.
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.

New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.

Glendale Crossing may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
One of the most surprising things residents discover at Amica Riverside is just how quickly it feels like home. Many people come in expecting a clinical or institutional environment, but they’re often delighted by the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by both our staff and residents. Newcomers are greeted with genuine kindness, and it's common to see fast friendships forming over shared meals, activities, or simply passing in the hallway. Residents often tell us they didn’t expect to laugh so much, stay so active, or feel such a strong sense of community. From the attentive team members who go out of their way to personalize your experience, to the inclusive and social culture, Amica Riverside surprises people in the best way—by offering n

As we look ahead, we’ll continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Glendale Crossing. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
