The Village of Glendale Crossing creates a good-natured community made up of both seniors and staff. The care and nursing staff here get an especially high grade for “going that extra mile” as part of their daily routine. With the opening of Phase 3 in 2023, The Village became a fuller, more vibrant community that benefits strongly from Schlegel’s town square layout and other features. Friends meet each other throughout the building, and a lively daily activities schedule further enhances the social life.
Riverstone retiree apartments are the right move for progressive-minded older London-area residents. Leave behind the unnecessary complications of home ownership and find a setting that's suited to you. It's prodigiously contemporary, remarkably convenience-oriented, and delightfully green. The visionary environment has created a thriving community of seniors.
As the owner of a business that supports seniors who are transitioning homes, we have moved many clients into Glendale Crossings. The whole village has a wonderful vibe to it - I see seniors out of their rooms engaging in activities and the goings on of village life. There is always a bustle of activity throughout the home and a very social place when in the village. The staff is always warm and inviting and very caring towards the residents and guests. It feels very bright, spacious, and friendly - always clean and well maintained - I would certainly recommend!
As always, I had a good experience. The staff is great. I enjoy visiting with my siblings, and I am always welcomed by the staff.
My father and I had a wonderful lunch followed by a tour with Monika. We found the home open, clean, spacious, warm, and welcoming. We had lunch at the Ruby, which was a real treat, and the food was excellent. My parents are on a wait list but we have been invited to several of their events, the latest being an educational lunch and learn session on Alzheimer's. Feeling part of the community there makes all the difference. Lots of activities in a modern setting with friendly staff on site. Much gratitude for all you do!
When our elderly relative could no longer live independently and needed help with meals and some daily care, we took him to meet the team at Glendale Crossing for a tour. We were all impressed with the facility, from the 'village' concept with a town hall, meeting space, coffee lounge, and other common area amenities, it genuinely feels like a small community. The place is spotlessly clean, and meals are both nutritious and delicious, the staff is relentlessly attentive, and we have never once had a cause for even the mildest complaint. Glendale Crossing is a high-end retirement community, and it shows with every attention to detail and the quality of the staff, but if your relative or family can afford it, we highly recommend it as an option.
The team at Glendale Crossing Retirement Residence is a pleasure to work with. Monika and Holly are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely care about building meaningful relationships in the community. They are truly dedicated to supporting seniors and their families.
Amazing building.
We have been here since early September 2021 and love it here. Apartments are spacious, the management and staff go above and beyond to make us comfortable.
Everything I’ve seen here exceeds my expectations, from beautiful suites, to food, to social events. At my first event I met another gentleman who enjoys cribbage, like I do. He says, we’re going to be friends!
The Village of Glendale Crossing, just off Singleton Avenue in London, is a prominent focal point in a blossoming neighbourhood making this Village a true community hub. The Retirement Phase joined our Long Term Care Village of 192 suites that has been in operation since 2010.

The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
What sets us apart is the variety of living options—from retiree apartments to one-floor villas and new retirement suites—all within a vibrant, walkable community. With concierge services, engaging social opportunities, and standout amenities like our rooftop Skylight Restaurant and On the Rocks lounge, daily life here feels both easy and elevated.
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.
We make it easy to feel at home from the start. Our team helps you settle, introduces you to amenities and dining, and connects you with social activities and clubs. With concierge services, welcoming common spaces, and a naturally social atmosphere, new residents quickly find a rhythm, often faster than they imagined. Whether you prefer to jump right in or take things at your own pace, there’s always support along the way.
New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
Riverstone is designed for independent living, with the flexibility to bring in additional support if you need it. In that case, you can continue enjoying your home, your routines, and your community, while adapting services as needed.
Glendale Crossing may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
Riverstone may not be right for anyone looking for a traditional retirement residence with built-in clinical care or daily assistance. (We have other communities in London that could help you with that.) Our community is designed for independent adults who want convenience, connection, and an active lifestyle. If you’re seeking a more structured or care-focused environment, another type of residence may be a better match.

Many people are surprised by how much is included and how easy life feels here. From complimentary meals at the Skylight Restaurant to biweekly housekeeping and access to beautifully designed social spaces, convenience and relaxed comfort stand out for our residents. Add in the rooftop patio, fitness studio, and lively lounges, and it quickly becomes clear this is a place designed from the ground up for their enjoyment.
As we look ahead, we’ll continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Glendale Crossing. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
Riverstone will continue to grow and evolve as a dynamic and connected community. As new residences and amenities come online, there’ll be more opportunities for social time, convenience, and lifestyle enhancement. At the same time, we’ll stay focused on what matters most to our residents: offering a welcoming environment where they can live independently and enjoy each day.
