This still-very-new community benefits from the experience and expertise of one of the leading senior care companies in Canada, Verve Senior Living. Expect the very best in senior living here, in a cozy community on the shores of Lake Ontario, nestled in Mississauga. A full continuum of care, from independent living to memory care makes it a worthy destination for senior couples with different care needs.
The Village of Erin Meadows continues Schlegel Villages progressive approach to senior care. Expect excellence in all aspects, from building design and layout, through care offered, to innovation in service. Flexibility is one of their touchstones. Living in My Today, Java Music Club and ElderWisdom are three signature programs that exemplify their approach in creating care environments. Since 2009, Schlegel has driven its own culture change in senior care.
I want to thank Katherine Mayers and her team for a wonderful tour. What a great building, offering all levels of care, and the food is amazing.
Our family had a tremendous customer-service experience with Aysha and the rest of the team at The Shores. Aysha has been extremely patient & kind as our Mother struggled to decide where to move. In the end, Mom decided she wants to stay in Etobicoke, and we hope she will land somewhere equally warm & welcoming.
My mother and I went for a tour recently at Port Credit Shores, and we absolutely loved it! The facility itself is very well kept with modern yet elegant touches throughout. As we walked through the recreational areas, I almost felt as though I was at an all-inclusive high-end resort! Residents seemed refreshed, happy, and at ease. Those we had an opportunity to speak with had only great things to say. The several activities offered allow residents to live an active lifestyle and nurture relationships. Katherine, who is the Community Relations Manager we had the pleasure of dealing with, was very informative and helpful. Residents seemed to gravitate toward her warm energy and positive presence. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would highly consider this home for my parents!
Moving into the apartments was quick and easy. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I'm all settled and comfortable here.
Wow, what an incredible place to have your loved one live! I was looking for my mom and was so impressed with Shores! It was absolutely beautiful, but more importantly, every person I came into contact with were amazing. In particular, Bradley was a tremendous help to me in providing answers to all my questions and really going above and beyond to help me with my decision. You can tell he is a genuine person who really cares about helping you find the best fit for your loved one. Ultimately, I decided on a place closer to mine and my sister’s homes that may fit her needs better in the future, but it was such a difficult decision! Thank you, Bradley, and every other gem I came into contact with at Shores of Port Credit!
I visit a friend at the Village. The Village is truly what the name suggests. The place is very well managed. The care the very senior residents get is extremely good. The gym facilities, as well as the entertainment section, are well organized. The residents are informed of events well in advance. Every need of the residents is given top priority.
I am always impressed by the care and compassion of the team. I can leave knowing that my husband is being treated with respect, kindness, and genuine concern.
The village of Erin Meadows is a wonderful place for your loved ones to receive care. The staff are friendly, supportive and really want to do what is best for each client with the limited resources available. Being in healthcare, you don’t often hear positive situations only the harsh -ones. Those negative events are often very few events but travel through the rumour mill very quickly and last a long time. This organization is very open to family involvement and solutions to complaints for change. I would like to take this time to bring forward and acknowledge the staff, physicians, leadership, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to providing this care for our loved ones.
My mom received great care during 5 month period she resided in memory care area at Erin Meadows. The PSWs on the floor are terrific and gave me comfort that my mom was being cared for with dignity and respect.
Absolutely zero complaints! My father stayed in the Egerton and Emma's neighbourhood during his time at Erin Meadows, and the level of care provided was excellent. Every nurse, psw, food service, housekeeping and therapist treated my father with kindness and dignity. My mother and I were extremely happy with everything, and most importantly my father was very happy. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad Vernon!
The Shores of Port Credit, a Verve Elite residence on Lake Ontario in Mississauga, offers spacious suites and a full continuum of care, including Luxury Apartments, Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Nurture your mind, body, and soul with our vibrant social community, exceptional amenities, and five-star dining. From a golf simulator and pool to a movie theatre and wine cellar, we take care of everything so you can enjoy a life you love.
Our Village is a proud part of a Canadian family tradition of community building that goes back 70 years. The first Schlegel family home became the foundation of what Schlegel Villages is today. Here at The Village of Erin Meadows, we offer several lifestyle options to meet a variety of needs. Our continuum of care allows for residents to age with us in place as their needs change. The residents we serve come from a range of backgrounds that thread together the fabric of our community, and while we know resident-centredness is a term that many lean on these days, we truly do focus on each individual’s wishes to guide our approach to service. Our Signature Programs help us focus on the individuality of each resident we serve. Our LIVING in My Today dementia care philosophy, for example, was developed by our team and our partners alongside people with lived experience. This provides our team the opportunity to learn exactly what it means to support a person who is experiencing the changing perceptions of dementia. We also celebrate the Wisdom of the Elder as another Signature Program, thanks to the inspiration of our founder Ron Schlegel. Ron once said: “The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders,” and we honour the individual and collective wisdom of those we serve in ways large and small.
The Shores of Port Credit also features a Senior Living Community thoughtfully designed for the freedom of independence, but with access to all the five-star services and amenities The Shores has to offer—from a golf simulator and swimming pool to movie theatre and wine cellar. Indulge in an impressive city skyline or Lake Ontario views, spacious suites with intelligent technology, and resort-style dining options. Experience a vibrant lifestyle designed so you can live your way, every day.
Named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the third consecutive year (2023–2025) the prestigious award recognizes Verve’s proven leadership in retirement residence management, its strong and values‑driven employee culture, and its ongoing focus on
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
As evolving and varied as seniors may be, we all want our needs met in a certain way. At The Shores of Port Credit, we celebrate that. Though the types of support we offer are different, the level of respect and dignity we display is unwavering. We offer Independent Living (with the option to provide personalized support in the suite), Assisted Living, Memory Care and Respite stays. On your first day, you will be greeted with a welcome gift from The Shores which will include a resident handbook with helpful information to orient you to the Community. If you are inclined to be social, we make every effort to get to know you and provide you an ambassador to assist you as you embark on a new daily routine.
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.
At The Shores, we offer a true continuum of care, so you can continue living here comfortably as your needs change. We offer everything from independent living and luxury apartments to assisted living and memory care, all under one roof. As care needs change, we adjust support thoughtfully, whether that’s discreet personal care, overnight check-ins, or more comprehensive assistance. It’s ideal for couples with divergent care needs, and all of our residents can feel secure while continuing to enjoy a lifestyle they enjoy.
Our full continuum of care allows residents to remain within one familiar community as their needs evolve. This includes independent living, retirement living apartments, assisted care, memory care, and long-term care, all connected within the Village. As care needs increase, residents continue to experience the familiarity, relationships, routines, and sense of belonging that make our Village feel like home.
The Shores may not be the right fit if you like simple and basic. Our community is designed for those who appreciate a full-service lifestyle—elevated dining, engaging programs, and a wide range of amenities. We’re best suited for residents who want both independence and access to support, all within a vibrant, service-rich environment.
Erin Meadows may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
We offer a continuum of care starting with our lifestyle apartments, to Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. We offer access to nurses & PSWs 24 hours a day for peace of mind in case of emergency. And contrary to popular believe, Retirement Living does give you the independence you enjoy - we just do all the heavy lifting for you.
New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
We’ll continue to enhance the lifestyle experience that defines The Shores—refining our programs, services, and care offerings to meet the evolving needs of our residents. With a focus on personalization and choice, we’re always finding ways to elevate daily life while maintaining the warmth and sense of community that residents value. Our goal is simple: to keep creating a place where you can truly live your way, every day.
We will continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Erin Meadows. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
