Amica London is a premier choice for senior living, offering a harmonious blend of comfort, care, and community. Residents here enjoy a wide range of thoughtfully designed amenities. Some of the best features include private suites with accessible features, fine dining prepared by Red Seal chefs, and a vibrant calendar of social events and activities.
The Village of Glendale Crossing creates a good-natured community made up of both seniors and staff. The care and nursing staff here get an especially high grade for “going that extra mile” as part of their daily routine. With the opening of Phase 3 in 2023, The Village became a fuller, more vibrant community that benefits strongly from Schlegel’s town square layout and other features. Friends meet each other throughout the building, and a lively daily activities schedule further enhances the social life.
I can honestly say, Amica London saved my life. When my father declined and needed to move to an Assisted Living... Amica London came to the rescue! They are amazing! They have no problem taking care of my father. He is doing great there, much better than the other place. In fact, now it is clear to me that, with competent care, he doesn't need to be in LTC! At Amica, the food is fantastic (I've eaten with him many times), the staff are experienced and well-trained, and there are 5 or 6 activities each day on the Assisted Living floor alone, to keep the residents active and engaged. We also visit with other residents in the Bistro on the main floor, and participate in activities downstairs for the Independent Living residents as well (e.g., art classes, theatre performances, including a recent music recital from UWO). I wholeheartedly recommend Amica London!
The staff was always kind and professional.
It's a very nice community and a breath of fresh air. All the staff and residents have been so helpful, friendly, and engaging. Thank you so much to Rebecca Sim and the whole team at Amica London. You've been really amazing while arranging for a spur-of-the-moment respite stay for my mom. She's so thrilled to be staying with you at your very nicely appointed property.
I visited Amica a number of times as an 'essential caregiver' for a resident. This is a lovely facility with great amenities and an attentive, professional staff. Rebecca Sim, the community relations director, was particularly helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Amica for brief respite care, longer-term stays, or a permanent home.
As the owner of a business that supports seniors who are transitioning homes, we have moved many clients into Glendale Crossings. The whole village has a wonderful vibe to it - I see seniors out of their rooms engaging in activities and the goings on of village life. There is always a bustle of activity throughout the home and a very social place when in the village. The staff is always warm and inviting and very caring towards the residents and guests. It feels very bright, spacious, and friendly - always clean and well maintained - I would certainly recommend!
As always, I had a good experience. The staff is great. I enjoy visiting with my siblings, and I am always welcomed by the staff.
My father and I had a wonderful lunch followed by a tour with Monika. We found the home open, clean, spacious, warm, and welcoming. We had lunch at the Ruby, which was a real treat, and the food was excellent. My parents are on a wait list but we have been invited to several of their events, the latest being an educational lunch and learn session on Alzheimer's. Feeling part of the community there makes all the difference. Lots of activities in a modern setting with friendly staff on site. Much gratitude for all you do!
When our elderly relative could no longer live independently and needed help with meals and some daily care, we took him to meet the team at Glendale Crossing for a tour. We were all impressed with the facility, from the 'village' concept with a town hall, meeting space, coffee lounge, and other common area amenities, it genuinely feels like a small community. The place is spotlessly clean, and meals are both nutritious and delicious, the staff is relentlessly attentive, and we have never once had a cause for even the mildest complaint. Glendale Crossing is a high-end retirement community, and it shows with every attention to detail and the quality of the staff, but if your relative or family can afford it, we highly recommend it as an option.
The team at Glendale Crossing Retirement Residence is a pleasure to work with. Monika and Holly are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely care about building meaningful relationships in the community. They are truly dedicated to supporting seniors and their families.
This retirement residence is unlike any in the London area. Well-appointed amenities and premium services include a 24-hour concierge, LUXURA™ Spa, elegant dining, lounges, thames tavern, indoor pool and walking track, outdoor LifeTrail, plus activities and events to please many interests. Suites feature balconies and scenic views. Indoor parking. Amica’s Personal Concierge Services and Assisted Living Suites and Services.
The Village of Glendale Crossing, just off Singleton Avenue in London, is a prominent focal point in a blossoming neighbourhood making this Village a true community hub. In Fall of 2023 we opened our Retirement Phase with a total of 227 suites that consist of Independent Living, Retirement Apartments, Full Service Retirement Suites, Assisted Care Suites and Memory Care Suites. The Retirement Phase joined our Long Term Care Village of 192 suites that has been in operation since 2010.
Relax on our well-appointed balconies and patios with views of mature trees or stroll our landscaped grounds on a private paved trail. Our active and engaged seniors head up more than a dozen resident-led groups and clubs on everything from a billiards league and gardening group to an in-house choir and mah-jong club. Many of our residents join us from London neighbourhoods like Westmount, Sunningdale and Masonville, as well as Arva, Thorndale and the Greater Toronto Area.
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.

Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.

New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.

Glendale Crossing may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.

As we look ahead, we’ll continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Glendale Crossing. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
