Vitality seems to exude from every aspect of this community. All the interiors here are bright and clean. You see and hear interactions between staff and residents that are positive and cheerful, and rooted in patience and kindness. It's obvious that staff love working with the people here, working to create such a positive environment.
The Village of Erin Meadows continues Schlegel Villages progressive approach to senior care. Expect excellence in all aspects, from building design and layout, through care offered, to innovation in service. Flexibility is one of their touchstones. Living in My Today, Java Music Club and ElderWisdom are three signature programs that exemplify their approach in creating care environments. Since 2009, Schlegel has driven its own culture change in senior care.
Looking for a place for a loved one, we really appreciate Teodora and her caring, straightforward approach. We appreciate her taking the time to ask questions about my dad, and trying to see the whole person, and she explained a lot about searching for retirement homes. We ended up deciding to go to a different city, but had we chosen Mississauga, we would have chosen this facility.
We moved my mom into Evergreen Retirement Home about a year ago, and it has been a very positive experience for her and for us, as a family. One of the biggest deciding factors was that she could control the heat in her own room. That may sound small, but it mattered a lot to her. We toured another retirement home where this wasn’t possible, and it was a deal-breaker. At Evergreen, she loves coming back to a room that’s warmer than most people would prefer, and that comfort has made a real difference in how happy she feels there. The staff are consistently kind, friendly, and cheerful with her. Before moving in, my mom was living alone after my father passed away, and it was isolating. Her mobility had declined, and she was mostly just moving between the kitchen and her bed. Now she has people around her, a full schedule of activities if she wants them, and a reason to get out of her room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals can be delivered, but sitting at a table with others has been great for her socially. Evergreen has also taken a lot of pressure off of us as her kids. Knowing she’s well cared for gives us real peace of mind. PSWs help her with things like showers when needed, and there’s excellent access to healthcare. She’s been able to see an on-site doctor and even booked an appointment with an ear specialist who visits once a month, which is incredibly convenient. A special thank you to Teodora Elez, who guided us through the entire process. She showed us around, visited my mom at her home with other team members, and took the time to make my mom feel comfortable with what could have been a difficult transition. That personal care meant a lot to our family. I often sit with my mom at meals and chat with the other residents, and they are just as friendly and welcoming as the staff. Evergreen is full of good people, and I’m genuinely glad my mom is there. It’s been a very positive experience.
My mother and aunt have been at Evergreen for the past 11 months. My neighbor's grandmother and two of her friends are also at Evergreen for a while, and they love it (they have all become friends in the community).
During this Christmas season, there were plenty of decorations, and it felt like a large family gathering there. Seeing residents so happy as they gather together (including my mother and aunt) made me feel happy that we brought them to Evergreen. The staff were dressed up, and the environment was warm and inviting. I could tell that they put a lot of effort into making everyone feel like one happy family.
I was recommended to Evergreen by a colleague who has both his parents since 2024, and we are both delighted with the treatment our family has received to date. ... We are proud to have our families at Evergreen.
5 years ago, my dad first moved to 810 Scollard Court. He recently moved to 820 Scollard as his needs have changed and he now requires more care. I'd like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Natasha for helping to seamlessly transition my father from 810 to 820 Scollard. Natasha was always available to answer my many questions, ensuring my dad was comfortable throughout the process and welcomed to the 820 Scollard community. Thank you Natasha for your exceptional customer service, and thank you also to Teodora and Melody for your support during the process as well!
Teodora of Evergreen is absolutely wonderful! My brother and I are beginning to have conversations with my father about what retirement living can offer, and having guidance and support from Teodora in these discussions is incredibly helpful. Her gentle demeanor, professional knowledge, and kindness are a testament to Evergreen's commitment to care.
I visit a friend at the Village. The Village is truly what the name suggests. The place is very well managed. The care the very senior residents get is extremely good. The gym facilities, as well as the entertainment section, are well organized. The residents are informed of events well in advance. Every need of the residents is given top priority.
I am always impressed by the care and compassion of the team. I can leave knowing that my husband is being treated with respect, kindness, and genuine concern.
The village of Erin Meadows is a wonderful place for your loved ones to receive care. The staff are friendly, supportive and really want to do what is best for each client with the limited resources available. Being in healthcare, you don’t often hear positive situations only the harsh -ones. Those negative events are often very few events but travel through the rumour mill very quickly and last a long time. This organization is very open to family involvement and solutions to complaints for change. I would like to take this time to bring forward and acknowledge the staff, physicians, leadership, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to providing this care for our loved ones.
My mom received great care during 5 month period she resided in memory care area at Erin Meadows. The PSWs on the floor are terrific and gave me comfort that my mom was being cared for with dignity and respect.
Absolutely zero complaints! My father stayed in the Egerton and Emma's neighbourhood during his time at Erin Meadows, and the level of care provided was excellent. Every nurse, psw, food service, housekeeping and therapist treated my father with kindness and dignity. My mother and I were extremely happy with everything, and most importantly my father was very happy. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad Vernon!

Our Village is a proud part of a Canadian family tradition of community building that goes back 70 years. The first Schlegel family home became the foundation of what Schlegel Villages is today. Here at The Village of Erin Meadows, we offer several lifestyle options to meet a variety of needs. Our continuum of care allows for residents to age with us in place as their needs change. The residents we serve come from a range of backgrounds that thread together the fabric of our community, and while we know resident-centredness is a term that many lean on these days, we truly do focus on each individual’s wishes to guide our approach to service. Our Signature Programs help us focus on the individuality of each resident we serve. Our LIVING in My Today dementia care philosophy, for example, was developed by our team and our partners alongside people with lived experience. This provides our team the opportunity to learn exactly what it means to support a person who is experiencing the changing perceptions of dementia. We also celebrate the Wisdom of the Elder as another Signature Program, thanks to the inspiration of our founder Ron Schlegel. Ron once said: “The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders,” and we honour the individual and collective wisdom of those we serve in ways large and small.
Evergreen is unique in its integration with the community. Adjacent to our retirement home, there are two buildings that are predominantly seniors. Because our community is so welcoming, we have individuals that utilize our spaces and great long-lasting friendships.
Named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the third consecutive year (2023–2025) the prestigious award recognizes Verve’s proven leadership in retirement residence management, its strong and values‑driven employee culture, and its ongoing focus on innovation and exceptional resident experience across its communities.
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
Welcoming residents to their new home, is our number one priority. With dedicated New Resident Tea and Lunches, it allows for specific activities for new residents to meet individuals in similar situations, and families too!
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.
At Evergreen Retirement Community, residents can continue living comfortably as their needs evolve through the availability of independent living, independent supportive living, and assisted living within the same community. Support services and wellness assistance can be coordinated to help with daily routines while residents remain in familiar surroundings. Our focus is on maintaining independence while ensuring help is available when it is needed.
Our full continuum of care allows residents to remain within one familiar community as their needs evolve. This includes independent living, retirement living apartments, assisted care, memory care, and long-term care, all connected within the Village. As care needs increase, residents continue to experience the familiarity, relationships, routines, and sense of belonging that make our Village feel like home.
Someone seeking a small residence, a setting with minimal amenities and community interaction, or searching for long-term care may find another type of residence more aligned with their preferences Evergreen appeals to seniors who appreciate an active retirement lifestyle with amenities, programs, and opportunities to connect with others. Residents enjoy shared spaces, dining, and social activities that make daily life engaging.
Erin Meadows may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
Evergreen is surprisingly one of the few homes that have transportation to local medical appointments shopping outings. Many communities offer group outings, however, we have a dedicated service for reserved individual and group outings!
New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
In the coming years, we’ll continue building on the lifestyle residents already enjoy. The focus will remain on strengthening wellness programs, dining experiences, and opportunities for social connection while maintaining the friendly, vibrant environment and attentive service that define Evergreen Retirement Community. We’ll continue evolving in ways that support residents’ independence, comfort, and wellbeing.
We will continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Erin Meadows. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
Evergreen is a multicultural community that has a variety of amenities, including bowling alley, swimming pool and a 50s diner. The professional staff members are dedicated to providing the highest level of care support to all residents.
