Our community is designed for independent seniors who value an active, engaging lifestyle, with access to services that support well-being rather than define daily life. We’re best suited for individuals who want to remain independent, socially connected, and empowered in a setting that feels more like a resort than a traditional care residence.

What might residents find surprising about your community?

We are proud to be locally-owned and operated by father and son, Gordon and Chris Denford. From the opening of our very first retirement community, the Denford’s realized the importance of creating a warm and welcoming community that put the needs of our residents first. Gordon and Chris are actively involved in the development and operation of each unique location and their philosophy of accessible, approachable and effective listening allows Berwick to adapt quickly to the residents’ changing needs. Their openness and commitment to our residents can be felt in every aspect of life at all our Berwick’s.

How will your community change in the next five years?

Over the next five years, we’ll continue to evolve in ways that enhance the Berwick experience—expanding programs, refining services, and creating even more opportunities for residents to stay active, engaged, and inspired. As expectations around retirement living continue to grow, we’ll remain focused on offering a vibrant, independent lifestyle in a setting that encourages connection, well-being, and a strong sense of belonging.

- Our furthest resident that relocated to Berwick Parksville travelled over 5887 km from England
- BPV had the largest Hvac system on the island at time of build
- Topside is the highest and only rooftop patio and lounge in the oceanside area
- BPV is the first to provide extra recreation – Pickle ball, Putting green and studio
- To the surprise of one of our soon to be residents. His grandfather George Aldernon Fothergill has his art displayed in our games room which has been feature in Vanity Fair.
