Overall experience

(4)

There is such a nice feeling of community amongst all residents. My mother has made lifelong friends and feels like she has found an amazing place to call home. Parkland on the Glen is centrally located in Mississauga with proximity to malls, grocery, and Credit Valley Hospital..lots of walking trails to explore.

Building, amenities & suites

(4.5)

Building has short hallways with a central elevator so access is close. Suites are comfortable and windows provide a great view. And the balcony is amazing and doesn’t have a separate price like some other residences.

Staff

(4)

Staff are always helpful. They really care about the people they serve. They take the time to really listen and provide a high standard of care. Friendly and accessible to everyone.

Residents and community life

(4.5)

My mother has made so many friends at Parkland. She calls everyone her friend and enjoys sharing in all activities together. She has even met her best friend at Parkland who she enjoys many common activities with including dining, movies and exercise.

Activities and services

(4.5)

Lots of opportunities for day trips to offsite experiences such as Niagara. Daily activities are posted and regular events like bingo and poker are favourites. Now I have to schedule times to talk to my mom because she is so busy having fun!

Care and medical attention

(4.5)

There is regular care and help is always available when needed. They have their doctor that comes to site per schedule. The only negative comment is it feels like a visit to an American hospital with costs allocated to every item (ie bandaids).

Food and drink

(2.5)

Snacks are only offered at a set time each day (2pm). Having more options and access to fruit and other snacks throughout the day would be preferred. There are lots of dining options on the menu but the quality and taste of the food could definitely be improved. Everything lacks flavour somehow and special dietary needs should be given better consideration for meal options.

Moving in

(4)

No issues. The process was easy and straightforward. Elevator was reserved in advance and items were brought in from the vehicle via underground parking. Some hallways are narrow so I could imagine large furniture might be difficult but we were ok.

MORE ABOUT Parkland on the Glen

Our Perspective

This building has it all for Toronto seniors. Condo ownership is available for those looking to invest. Rental suites offer exceptional retirement features, with some assistance available. This results in an integrated community, where seniors can decide to switch from condo ownership to care, in a community they're already familiar with. The best thing about the Parkland, though, is the unique combination of in-building luxuries and abundant conveniences just outside the door. Read more

Living at Parkland on the Glen is just like living in a 5 Star Hotel with all the benefits, and a beautiful one-bedroom apartment. I am so happy here and the staff are so caring and friendly. It would be a long time to find a more beautiful place. Come and take a tour you won’t regret it.
