The Village of Erin Meadows continues Schlegel Villages progressive approach to senior care. Expect excellence in all aspects, from building design and layout, through care offered, to innovation in service. Flexibility is one of their touchstones. Living in My Today, Java Music Club and ElderWisdom are three signature programs that exemplify their approach in creating care environments. Since 2009, Schlegel has driven its own culture change in senior care.
Expect excellence and state-of-the-art senior living at Ashley Oaks. This brand new retirement residence incorporates all the finest aspects of contemporary senior living in an impressive modern building. Bountiful amenities coupled with a mindful nod to traditional values and dining in a prime location set Ashley Oaks apart.
I visit a friend at the Village. The Village is truly what the name suggests. The place is very well managed. The care the very senior residents get is extremely good. The gym facilities, as well as the entertainment section, are well organized. The residents are informed of events well in advance. Every need of the residents is given top priority.
I am always impressed by the care and compassion of the team. I can leave knowing that my husband is being treated with respect, kindness, and genuine concern.
The village of Erin Meadows is a wonderful place for your loved ones to receive care. The staff are friendly, supportive and really want to do what is best for each client with the limited resources available. Being in healthcare, you don’t often hear positive situations only the harsh -ones. Those negative events are often very few events but travel through the rumour mill very quickly and last a long time. This organization is very open to family involvement and solutions to complaints for change. I would like to take this time to bring forward and acknowledge the staff, physicians, leadership, and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to providing this care for our loved ones.
My mom received great care during 5 month period she resided in memory care area at Erin Meadows. The PSWs on the floor are terrific and gave me comfort that my mom was being cared for with dignity and respect.
Absolutely zero complaints! My father stayed in the Egerton and Emma's neighbourhood during his time at Erin Meadows, and the level of care provided was excellent. Every nurse, psw, food service, housekeeping and therapist treated my father with kindness and dignity. My mother and I were extremely happy with everything, and most importantly my father was very happy. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad Vernon!
Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence is a beautiful, well-appointed residence with knowledgeable, caring, supportive, and professional staff. From personal care workers to activity coordinators to management, everybody at Ashley Oaks is committed, friendly, warm, and caring. They work cohesively, and all are dedicated to providing an environment that is comfortable and welcoming. My Mother has been a resident since the opening of the retirement home, and she feels cared for, supported, and safe. She truly feels like she is part of the Ashley Oaks family. I feel confident, very satisfied, and at peace knowing my Mother is well taken care of, supported, and embraced by this community. I’m very grateful to the Ashley Oaks team.
Incredible facilities, rooms, and extraordinary staff and care. My Mom has really taken to everyone there and feels a sense of belonging. It's so reassuring for us, as well. We are always welcomed like family and have all concerns met immediately.
My grandmother moved here Sept 2025, and we all love Ashley Oaks so much!! We are completely stress-free knowing that she is well taken care of here. The building is so clean and feels like a hotel. All of the staff, from management to kitchen and care staff, are absolutely fabulous! We couldn’t have asked for a better place, and thank god for having found Ashley Oaks!!
Five of our family members now reside at the beautiful Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence—a modern, welcoming facility with friendly and caring staff, delicious chef-prepared meals, and a vibrant social environment filled with activities, including a pool. As a family, we must have toured at least ten other retirement homes, but both the children and the parents unanimously chose Ashley Oaks. Many of their services are included in the base price, whereas other residences charge extra for the same amenities. Now, six months after their move, I can say with complete honesty that all five of them are happy, comfortable, and truly enjoying their new home.
My Mother and sister have been there for over 1 year! From the food, care, and luxurious accommodations, our family has peace of mind that they are both being cared for in every way. The staff is very, very helpful; they keep us informed always with personal, health, and living accommodation needs.
Our Village is a proud part of a Canadian family tradition of community building that goes back 70 years. The first Schlegel family home became the foundation of what Schlegel Villages is today. Here at The Village of Erin Meadows, we offer several lifestyle options to meet a variety of needs. Our continuum of care allows for residents to age with us in place as their needs change. The residents we serve come from a range of backgrounds that thread together the fabric of our community, and while we know resident-centredness is a term that many lean on these days, we truly do focus on each individual’s wishes to guide our approach to service. Our Signature Programs help us focus on the individuality of each resident we serve. Our LIVING in My Today dementia care philosophy, for example, was developed by our team and our partners alongside people with lived experience. This provides our team the opportunity to learn exactly what it means to support a person who is experiencing the changing perceptions of dementia. We also celebrate the Wisdom of the Elder as another Signature Program, thanks to the inspiration of our founder Ron Schlegel. Ron once said: “The greatest untapped resource in Canada, if not the world, is the collective wisdom of our elders,” and we honour the individual and collective wisdom of those we serve in ways large and small.
WELCOME TO ASHLEY OAKS RETIREMENT A NEW SENIOR INDEPENDENT LIVING RESIDENCE Are you looking for a retirement home that offers convenience, comfort and nature? Look no further than Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence, easily accessible from Georgetown, Brampton, Streetsville and Meadowvale, as well as major highways such as the 401, 403 and 407. You can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant city with the serenity of the outdoors and plenty of amenities and services. Whether you want to socialize, exercise, or simply unwind in our many well equipped amenity spaces, Ashley Oaks Retirement is the perfect place for you. Our team will ensure that Ashley Oaks is not just a place to live but is a place to thrive!
The Village concept that sets us apart was always meant to create a living space for seniors that feels like a small town. In many ways this is similar to the experience our founder, Ron Schlegel, had growing up in Ailsa Craig outside of London, Ont. Our Main Street connects to the Town Square as the social spine of the Village. Together these spaces allow for indoor and accessible options for residents to live life as they always have. Ron also envisioned the Village as community hubs for seniors and others from the surrounding community. His vision was to connect the Village to the broader community to enhance the lives of residents as well as support those living outside the Village.
Ashley Oaks' vision was to create a retirement residence that caters to Croatians and European communities alike who share similar traditions and values. For many Europeans, food is not only a source of nourishment but also a way of preserving their culture and identity. At Ashley Oaks, we offer a menu that caters to the tastes and preferences of our residents, using fresh ingredients and authentic recipes.
We offer a variety of both indoor and outdoor amenities and activities that match your every mood - swimming, exercising, potting plants, or playing a friendly game of bocce in our beautiful courtyard. You can stay as active as you'd like or simply relax and socialize with new friends in our fireplace lounge or cafe bistro.
Each resident who calls the Village home, comes with a unique life story. By completing our My Experience (ME) Form, you help us better understand your life, experiences, values and preferences. In order to support you to live well within our village, we need to begin by hearing your story. Your dedicated Village Experience Coordinator helps guide you through this paperwork and helps make the move-in experience as smooth as possible. Our resident Welcoming Committee strives to help their new neighbours feel welcomed and connected.
Since Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence caters to Croatians and European families, a new resident can look forward to a "buddy system" that allows them to make a new friend(s) with individuals of the same or similar descent/nationality.
At Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence, we ensure a caring and comfortable orientation hosted by the Executive Director, including "meet the staff" and learning about all the programs and amenities available to residents. Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence is not only a place to live, but a place to thrive!
Our full continuum of care allows residents to remain within one familiar community as their needs evolve. This includes independent living, retirement living apartments, assisted care, memory care, and long-term care, all connected within the Village. As care needs increase, residents continue to experience the familiarity, relationships, routines, and sense of belonging that make our Village feel like home.
If needs can change over time, we’re here to provide the right level of assistance in a way that feels comfortable and familiar. We offer personalized care services that can be adjusted as needed, always with a focus on dignity and respect. Because we’re a close-knit community, our team knows each resident well, making it easier to respond quickly and thoughtfully.
Erin Meadows may not be the right fit for someone looking for a very private or independent lifestyle without much connection to others. Life in the Village is designed to feel like a small town, where relationships, shared spaces, and daily interaction are part of the experience. Residents should also be comfortable living in a community where fellow neighbours have a variety of different care needs. We are a full continuum of care Village and we strive to make it a place where everyone belongs. We’re best suited for people who want to be part of a community—to know their neighbours, to be known by name, and to live in a place where connection and belonging are part of everyday life.
Ashley Oaks may not be the right fit for someone seeking memory care or a highly clinical care environment. Our focus is on connection, culture, and shared experiences, especially for those who appreciate European traditions and a strong sense of community. We’re ideally suited for individuals who enjoy social living, cultural familiarity, and being part of a warm, engaging home where relationships and daily interaction are an important part of life.
New residents often say “I wish I had done this sooner!” They’re surprised by how quickly they become absorbed in the community and how fast new friendships develop. In no time at all, everybody knows their name and like in any small town, a walk down Main Street is an opportunity to connect with friends and new acquaintances. People are also surprised by opportunities offered to grow and learn in their new community. They find new passions like hosting a podcast, riding a mechanical bull, becoming an artist or fulfilling a lifelong dream of skydiving. As they say, the possibilities are endless.
At Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence, the European flare and traditions carries throughout the home. From ethnic folklore performances in our large multipurpose room, to making traditional favourites such as homemade apple strudel and cabbage rolls in our spacious country kitchen, the feeling of "home" is simply comforting and entertaining all at the same time!
Enjoy a history lesson from a fellow resident dating back to their childhood/homeland, or learn a new hobby that you've never considered before. At Ashley Oaks Retirement Residence, your options are endless!
We will continue to build on the Village concept that defines life at Erin Meadows. That means deepening our connections within the broader community, expanding opportunities for learning, creativity, and engagement, and continuing to listen to residents’ stories through tools like our ME Form. We will also strive to evolve our care and service offerings given the changing needs of our residents. The Village will keep evolving as a place where people can live fully and receive the support they need while staying connected, and continue to discover new passions, just as they would in any vibrant small town.
We’ll continue to grow with our residents, building on the traditions and values that are our strength. We’ll continue enhancing our cultural programming, dining experiences, and daily activities, while adapting care services to meet evolving needs. Our focus will always be on creating a place where residents feel at home—connected to their heritage, supported in their lifestyle, and able to continue enjoying meaningful experiences each day.
