Moving here is a step into a new way of living that will improve your life in every way. You’ll be surrounded by a spectacular environment, in your suite, throughout the building, and in the community’s riverside setting. While there’s everything you’ll ever need onsite, you can add perks like discounts at local golf courses and restaurants. Kamloops and area residents will be awed by what’s available here, and what luxury you can afford.
The Vineyards is a thoroughly modern addition to retirement living options in Kelowna. Striking features of this community include expert care available, and the sense of spaciousness and newness that pervades this development. For Kelowna-area residents facing a need for some additional help with daily care, or families dealing with the progressive effects of dementia, this offers exemplary care and community.
We are very happy with our accommodation at The Residence and so happy we have a washer and dryer in our suite, weekly cleaning, underground parking, and fabulous meals that we can adapt to our choice. A beautiful covered deck to enjoy the fresh air and view. The staff are very friendly and work as a team. They remember our names and try to make us happy and we feel like one big family. Everyone looks out for each other. There are lots of amenities and the staff is always open to getting quality entertainment and any of the crafts or interests others want to pursue and share with anyone that is interested. We feel safe and secure.
Very friendly and clean. Food is good. This is my new home can't think of why I would want to change it.
I have lived at the Residence since Jan 2019.....I absolutely love it ....It’s like living in a fabulous, fully equipped apartment in a first-class hotel...Our apts. have a full-sized fridge & stove, a dishwasher, a washer & dryer (in unit), high ceilings& great lighting. Included in our rent is weekly housekeeping, one meal a day...the suppers are really good.....restaurant quality with 5 entrees to choose from....also included are beverages....incredible salads, soups& desserts....the amenities are second to none....a library, a theatre, a workshop, a party room, a full-time hairdresser, underground parking, storage units....beautiful outdoor eating area with fireplace& an abundance of flowers& landscaping....but probably one of the best things about the Residence are the people .....the staff are so friendly, helpful, upbeat & accommodating .....because it’s an independent living facility, the residents are young thinking, friendly, helpful, caring....there are many great activities....crafts, crib, shows, happy hours, entertainers, trivia, afternoon coffee & goodies....there’s NO designated seating at meal time so we have an opportunity to sit with, meet & get to know our neighbours....I feel like I already have a new family...I had no intentions of selling my home & moving in ....all it took for me was an open house ....as soon as I saw what “THE RESIDENCE “ had to offer I knew this was where I wanted to be....the rest is history....so glad I made the transition....it really is AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!
I love this place. From day one the staff always smile and respond to your needs quickly. The people who live here are very considerate and friendly. The food is fantastic, especially the soup dishes and variety of meals. Glad I chose this place.
I moved into The Residence a year ago and from the first day I have loved living here. Three reasons I chose The Residence were selective seating in dining room so I started sitting with whoever had a spare chair to meet as many of the people as I could and of course found a large group of people as friends. The staff is so friendly and helpful, I went away for five months and when I came back the manager, Jody, brought his truck down to the underground parking to boost my car. Who could ask for more? The choice of dinner and lunch menu is amazing and always tasty, the chef takes our suggestions seriously but really there is so much choice yo can always find something good to eat. The laundry in my room is the third reason I chose The Residence much handier than laundromat. It’s so much fun to go to dinner or the provided entertainment . We have movies on big screen with theatre seats and popcorn, exercise room (I haven’t personally used) large reception areas to entertain our families or guests. As you can tell I’m very happy with my choice to live at The Residence.
My dad recently moved into Assisted Living at The Vineyards Residence after living independently his whole life. As my dad is 101 years old, I thought it would be a challenging transition. Thanks to the wonderful staff and variety of activities to keep the residents engaged and connected, my dad is thriving. I hear no complaints about the food, and the staff at The Vineyards ensures that my dad is living in a safe, supportive, and caring community.
My mother-in-law moved into The Vineyards in 2022, first on the Assisted Living floor and later in Memory Care. This facility is beautifully designed and maintained and the staff are endlessly caring and friendly. The nursing staff and management were always available and ready to listen and help in any way possible. My mother-in-law’s room was comfortable and felt like a home rather than a care facility and the recreational team kept her engaged and happy in their many activities. During her recent decline and palliative care the nurses, care aides, housekeeping staff and management could not have been kinder or more attentive. Thanks so much to all the staff who helped make Erika’s last days peaceful and full of loving care.
In Oct of 2022 my father, with Parkinson's and Vascular Dementia, ended up in Kelowna General Hospital. Due to upsetting circumstances, the medical system considered my father assisted living when he needed full care and support. We did not qualify for a funded bed or full care and our alternatives were to send my father back home, which was no longer safe for him, or to look into private care. This led me to look into different private facilities that would be safe and supportive for him. We wanted something that would take into consideration his dementia/parkinsons but still allow for some freedom with support (ex. he could come to dinner if he wanted but would get a reminder for dinner since he didn't know timeframes most of the time due to his brain failure). I met with Jenelle who gave me a tour, listened to my story, and showed such graciousness and compassion. I knew pretty much immediately that I wanted my dad there and we secured a spot for him. Unfortunately, he passed away in hospital shortly before he was planned to move and even then the Vineyards was wonderful to work with in cancelation and moving out of all my dad's things. I'm so grateful for the peace of mind and the details that were handled even though my dad didn't have the pleasure of living there in the end. Jenelle showed her support to my husband, my sisters, and me through words, tears, and in showing up to my father's memorial even though she hadn't met him. If you want a residence and manager (Jenelle) that really cares about the families and your loved ones, I highly recommend looking into the Vineyards.
We moved my father into the Vineyards 2 months ago when he was in the end stages of his 7 year battle with Prostate Cancer. He was requiring 24/7 care and TLC and was starting to deal with memory loss and confusion. Jenelle made the intake process seamless and the team on the third floor were amazing. Many of the staff are quite young and we weren't sure how it would go, but there is a kind and compassionate group of workers on that floor that loved on Dad and cared for him as well or better than we could at home. From our experience I would highly recommend putting your family in their care.
This community is a must see! The Residence is state-of-the-art, clean and safe. The team at the Residence is absolutely wonderful. Hands down, an amazing place to be!

The Residence at Orchard Walk offers a vibrant, independent living experience with personalized support and a strong sense of community. Residents choose us for our welcoming atmosphere, flexible services, and responsive team. Families appreciate our commitment to dignity, safety, and resident-centered care—where preferences and values guide every decision. From tailored onboarding to ongoing feedback-driven improvements, seniors find a place where they’re heard, respected, and truly at home
At The Vineyards Residence, we embrace a multigenerational approach welcoming post-secondary, high school, and elementary students to engage with our residents.
Grade 2 and 3 local elementary students visit weekly to practice their reading with seniors and to teach/partake in an art activity.
High school students earn volunteer hours supporting residents in a variety of ways such as portering, assisting with activities, and spending quality one-on-one time.
Post-secondary students are living, volunteering and working in the residence.
The Vineyards Residence is a practicum site for various colleges and universities training healthcare professionals through co-operative education.
At The Residence at Orchard Walk, new residents are welcomed with personalized support to ease their transition. Weekly housekeeping, professional maintenance, and flexible dining allow residents to settle in comfortably. The Resident & Family Champion Program pairs newcomers with peers to help them navigate their new home and build connections. Open communication, bulletin boards, and committee involvement ensure residents feel heard and valued. Families appreciate the individualized care, upscale design, and vibrant lifestyle that make Orchard Walk a preferred choice for retirement living
A welcome gift awaits new residents when they move into The Vineyards Residence. Members of the Leadership Team eagerly look forward to meeting with residents to personally welcome them and the Resident Handbook covers many frequently asked questions. A friendly current resident may welcome newcomers to join them for meals or activities as they establish themselves in their new home. Meals preferences are reviewed with the Chef and all assisted living residents are encouraged to attend the monthly Assisted Living Resident Council meetings to hear the latest news and contribute to the lifestyle at The Vineyards Residence.
If a resident’s needs change, our team works closely with them and their family to reassess care and adjust services accordingly. If a resident requires a different suite or care level, we guide them through the transition with clear communication and compassion. In cases where needs exceed what we can provide, we assist in finding a suitable PPSL community or care setting. Our goal is to ensure continuity, comfort, and dignity every step of the way.
As a resident’s needs change, we support them by reassessments to understand the changing needs. Follow up with the doctor and family. We have a dietician, occupational therapists and social workers on site if required for more support.
While Orchard Walk offers vibrant independent living, it may not suit seniors needing daily medical care, memory support, or assisted living services. Those seeking 24/7 nursing, personal care, or specialized health programs won’t find them here. Our community emphasizes autonomy, social engagement, and hospitality—not clinical oversight. If a senior values medical supervision over independence, Orchard Walk may not align with their priorities
If there are aggressive behaviours or more complex needs outside Alzheimer’s and Dementia (such as feeding tube or brittle diabetes where more one on one nursing is required).
New residents at Orchard Walk are often surprised by the warmth and vibrancy of the community. While they may expect a quiet, reserved environment, they discover active recreation programs, friendly staff who know them by name, and a strong sense of belonging. From chef visits during meals to intergenerational activities and staff recognition events, the experience feels more like a lively neighborhood than a typical senior residence
Residents and their families are delighted with the multi-generational interactions.
The Vineyards Residence offers a phased-in approach to care where residents can age in place. A resident may require assisted living initially and can transition, as needed, by increasing care support to full memory care or long-term care.
The recreation calendar offers opportunities beyond bingo and movie nights. You can also find events such as “Painting and Pinot”, brain games using the Tovertafel Table, and organized outings to the places like the Aviation Museum, the Symphony and cheering on the UBCO Men’s Basketball Team!
Over the next five years, Orchard Walk will continue evolving as a vibrant independent living community. With sustained high occupancy and strong lead generation, future plans include enhanced resident engagement, refreshed interior design standards, and expanded digital outreach. These efforts reflect our mission to offer autonomy with hospitality, not healthcare. Our vision is to deepen community connections and elevate lifestyle experiences—without compromising independence
We will continue to grow and support our residents and in the next five years our phase two of independent living apartments will be completed to allow a more aged in place lifestyle of living.

The Residence is a part of the newly developed Orchards Walk community in the Valleyview area, comprised of single family homes as well as four planned commercial buildings. Situated next to the shopping plaza and planned community centre, The Residence is only a few minutes walk from a plethora of shops and planned services.
The Vineyards is located in an ideal setting with community services, restaurants and healthcare all nearby. The Dilworth, Orchard Park and Willow Park Shopping Centres are all a short distance away. The best thing about The Vineyards location might just be the gorgeous views of Okanagan Lake, the city on one side and idyllic green fields, hills and distant mountains on the other. Enjoy feeding the ducks swimming along side the community at Brandt’s Creek.
