Founded by Jenny and Al Jina in 1993, Park Place is known for its commitment to high-quality, inclusive senior care—and Prairie Lake is no exception.
This community is ideal for Calgary families and seniors looking for something a little different, something a little more ideally relaxed. The location just outside of Calgary in Rocky View County, is an idyllic location that offers quiet, country living close to the city. In addition, this is close to the highway, making it easily accessible for family members from throughout the area.
We moved our mom into Prairie Lake. We are happy with her placement. ... The staff are friendly, patient, and kind, which is highly important. Mom praises the food.
Everybody is VERY kind and friendly. They are always ready to help people with a warm-hearted manner. I am SO lucky to stay here.
The move has been great. The staff were very accommodating when we first moved in, allowing us to make sure we were set for when my husband arrived at the home. The staff are all so friendly and very helpful. So happy we chose this place, as when I leave at night, I have no worries that my husband will be taken care of.
My dad has been at Prairie Lake for over a year now. We have been absolutely blown away by the quality of care at this facility. All the caregivers are top-notch, and the food and amenities are great, too. We are so happy he is there: complete peace of mind.
I moved my mom in a couple of years ago and have been happy with her care for the most part.
As a person with a family member in the Manor facility, I can say that the communication from everyone has been amazing. I have sat down for a meal that they have provided, and it was delicious. The staff and residents are extremely friendly and shout out to Emma Thorn for helping my family navigate trying times!
Wonderful place, my grandma lives here and gets amazing care. This is a beautiful and amazing place for anyone 55+ looking for a calm and peaceful living, the staff absolutely care for all of the residents.
What a lovely place. The staff are all so kind and full of compassion and knowledge! The nurses go above and beyond and the whole place is clean and sanitary (a priority for my family)! The food is also amazing and I really appreciate all the activities and fun events the staff plan. It really brightens the patient's days and helps the days not blend in to one another. I think it's vital to have something to look forward to and socialization for quality of life and to ward off dementia! Thank you Prince of Peace! You've given me peace of mind and joy!
The staff vigilantly guard against infection from every angle. My mom is quite appreciative of your efforts, as well as all the accommodations you provide for her.
My Mum, who is 97, has lived at Prince of Peace Manor for three years. She has some dementia and she loves living there. She says the food is very good and the staff are professional, kind, helpful and not intrusive. I have found the standard of care to be excellent and staff go the extra mile to ensure that residents are healthy and safe. My Mum and I are happy we found the Prince of Peace Manor.

At Prairie Lake Seniors Community, we understand that transitioning to a new home can be emotional and overwhelming. That’s why we offer personalized move-in support, orientation sessions, and dedicated staff to help residents settle in comfortably.
Our welcoming environment, daily activities, and social programs foster connection and ease the adjustment process. Families appreciate our compassionate approach, consistent communication, and the sense of belonging we create from day one.
We understand that moving into a retirement community can be both exciting and overwhelming, which is why we offer a range of personalized supports to help residents adjust and feel at home. Each new resident receives a comprehensive orientation led by our department managers, along with a detailed resident handbook for ongoing reference. During the initial transition period, we assist residents to and from meals and activities to ensure comfort and ease. To foster social connections, we pair long-standing residents and newcomers at meal times so they can mingle and form friendships.
At Prairie Lake Seniors Community, we offer a full continuum of care—Independent Living, Supportive Living, and Long-Term Care—so residents can remain in the same community even as their needs evolve. If a resident’s health changes, our interdisciplinary team conducts care conferences to reassess and adjust their care plan. Transitions between units are handled with compassion and coordination, ensuring minimal disruption.
Our team conducts regular wellness assessments and remains in close communication with residents and their families to ensure that care plans remain appropriate and responsive to each individual’s needs. Our goal is to ensure residents continue to receive the right level of support while maintaining as much independence and dignity as possible. A resident may need to move units or to a different level of care if their needs exceed what we can safely and effectively provide in their current living arrangement. This might occur if they require advanced memory care, 24-hour skilled nursing, or other specialized services. We offer hands-on support throughout the transition process.
Prairie Lake Seniors Community may not be the best fit for seniors seeking luxury finishes or resort-style amenities. Our focus is on providing high-quality care in a warm, home-like environment—not on elaborate décor or upscale extras. Families who prioritize a clinical setting or highly urban location may also find our peaceful Grande Prairie setting too quiet. We’re best suited for those who value compassionate care, meaningful connections, and a sense of community over luxury or prestige.
We are an ideal choice for seniors who value a modest, faith-based lifestyle rooted in community. Our environment is best suited for those who appreciate a supportive, faith-based atmosphere. We may not be the right fit for everyone; particularly those seeking specialized healthcare for complex medical needs, a highly independent or urban lifestyle, or apartment-style living with full kitchens and a strong desire to continue cooking, cleaning, and maintaining full autonomy. Our priority is to help each senior find a community that truly matches their needs and values. If that place isn’t with us, we’re more than happy to help guide them in the right direction; because to us, the right fit matters more than simply filling a room.
Many residents are pleasantly surprised by how quickly Prairie Lake feels like home. While some expect a clinical or institutional setting, they discover a warm, welcoming environment filled with compassionate staff, vibrant social events, and personalized care. The community’s inclusive approach, from dementia support to hospice care, allows residents to age in place with dignity. Families often remark on the genuine relationships formed here and the unexpected joy their loved ones experience through meaningful activities, beautiful surroundings, and a strong sense of belonging
Moving to a senior living community can feel like a big step. For many, it initially seems like a loss of independence, a sign that they’ll have to give up the routines and activities they enjoy. But time and again, our residents at Prince of Peace discover the opposite. Once they settle in, they find themselves more socially engaged, more active, and often stepping outside their comfort zones to try new things. What once felt like a step back becomes a meaningful step forward in quality of life.
Over the next five years, Prairie Lake Seniors Community will continue evolving to meet the changing needs of seniors through innovation, safety, and resident-centered care. Guided by Park Place’s mission to enrich life experiences, future plans include expanding wellness programs, enhancing dementia care, and integrating new technologies. Staff training and interdisciplinary collaboration will remain a priority, ensuring care excellence. As needs grow more complex, Prairie Lake will strengthen its continuum of care, allowing residents to age in place with dignity.
