Ralph Villman and Lore Bieber have a unique vision in retirement living, manifested in Golden Pond Retirement Residence, east of Oshawa. This community is ideal for the nature lover, the aspiring mystic, or anyone who loves peace and tranquility. It feels like a spiritual retreat you can call home, and indeed the ranch-style building will quickly become just that for you, surrounded by peers who love it here.

THE RIVERINE

2010, in her 90th year, my Mother joined her sister, 5 years her senior, at the Riverine. Both were very hesitant to leave homes on the Napanee area farms where they raised their families; but the widows who had worked & travelled together in their senior years, happily re-united in this clean, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere. Later on, following many visits, 2 ‘younger’ sisters, also widowed, joined them from suburban Kingston. For several years, the 4 siblings enjoyed many crafts, activities, and outings organized by Riverine staff. Now Mom & her older sister have moved on. They’re missed, but our families will forever appreciate the kind attention Christine, her admin. team, and all nurses & staff wrapped around them during their life in this warm, welcoming community. We learned, as they helped Mom (and us) through difficult changes: giving up licence & car, moving from her apartment to a full-care room, and relying on a walker, that we had made a wise choice for our Mom.

My Dad is here, they do a great job!

With a variety of regular entertainment geared to people like me, my wonderful new friends here, and these lovely surroundings to relax in, I'm never lonely.

Words can't describe how wonderful life at The Riverine actually is.

The meals are excellent. The accommodations are superb.

Golden Pond is a beautiful home for so many amazing residents. If you love country living, and a homie feel this place is perfect for you or your loved ones. Each room is unique and has character. They have activities, home-cooked meals, a hairdresser, and so much more.

Beautiful spot in the country! Friendly and caring staff who go above and beyond every day! I highly recommend it!!!!

I always thought that living in a retirement home is the last thing I wanted to do – so I stayed in my house as long as I could. Today I know better – my only regret is that I did not come sooner to Golden Pond.

The folks at Golden Pond are really doing a terrific job of providing for all residents.

My wife and I lived here for 6 years, before Edna passed on. This is a most wonderful place to live if you are older and need someone to look after all your shortcomings. Golden Pond enables them to live life again, while feeling safe and secure.

I've been a resident at Golden Pond for 16 years now. The owners and employees are loving and family-oriented. My mom likes GP because of the quiet and homey feel. She feels very comfortable living there. The people there take excellent care of her. If she is having a crisis they are there for her and supporting her in her needs. I would recommend GP because of the care and the country charm that GP has.
