Arthur & Pamela have got a great outlook on life thanks to The Waterford.
My name is Arthur Allen. I'm married to Pamela Allen. We've been married for 68 years and we have lived in Tsawwassen for 62 of those years. So we've been long long time residents here.
So when we decided to make the move, when Pamela came down with dementia; we thought, well we wanted to stay in the area that we love so much, which is to Tsawwassen. We talked to Andie at this facility, Waterford, and immediately fell in love with the whole features of the building.
The staff here is very very friendly. It's very easy for me in the sense that I don't have to worry about meal preparations and clearing up and stuff like that. The food sources here are excellent at The Waterford. We have a wonderful chef. And we're more than happy with the way the meals are prepared and presented to us.
I particularly like the Bistro area. It's excellent for having chats with different residents and meeting up with different people. And I think the lounge area, now that it's been fully renovated, which is an excellent situation for us.
We have the weekly socials here on the Tuesdays and the Fridays. We could not be happier. They are so great they bring in lovely musicians for us all of the time. And you can order a drink while you're sitting watching the music. There's a beautiful new dance floor for everybody. I haven't danced in probably 30 years, but now I don't miss one social where we're not up dancing. Pam is so happy with it and that makes it so much easier for me.
One of the things that we enjoy probably the most is the sign-up sheets that come out every month for the different functions that are going to take place. For example the bus trips, and the staff has been good enough where they have extended it now where we do at least two bus trips a week. And the facility here has just purchased a new bus so we're so thrilled with that!
And it's just a good, good outlook for us I couldn't be happier than to be in Waterford.
